There is a new project - AQUA@Home (http://aqua.dwavesys.com/) - team created here (http://aqua.dwavesys.com/team_display.php?teamid=32).

Edit: No checkpointing yet. Original tasks incorrectly estimate is 1400 hrs per task but this is/has been corrected to approx 1-2hrs. They appear to be using the cheater friendly BOINC Scoring System (where the floating point speed can be manipulated to a ridiculously high figure and gain absurdly high points. It looks like the Proj Admin will change this system.
Apps available for linux and windows.

credit kinda low, 24 points for almost 2 hour run time.

but I guess that is claimed amount for this computer.

We've moved up to 5th place but 4th will take a few more people to join in the fun.

Bok doesn't have it listed in his stats yet. He had founded the Free-DC team in this project yesterday so maybe he's waiting on XML stats to be exported or something.

So you could go there and visit them?
Tell them to keep a cache of workunits on the side just for our Team. :icon_lol:

well app uses 1800kb of ram per core and it appears that you get 1 credit for joining

Stats for Aqua@Home (http://aqua.dwavesys.com/) added here (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=proj&proj=aqu) ..

Interesting new project though I haven't received my password yet from the automatic user it set up for me :(

Bok

I see the usual suspects are already hard at work chasing 100K on it :p

Update: I am receiving good points Values now. The length of each work unit can run anywhere from 6 minutes to about 17 hours. (All work units tell you they are around 11 to 16 hours long in estimation)

From conversing with other members I have found that AMD processors are receiving more credit then Intel's. This project with my systems are producing almost as much credit as the ABC@home project. That's a lot of Credit people. :icon_santa:

One flaw so far is that the work units do not have any stop points, so if you halt the work unit at anytime you have to start over. :icon_mad:

Cowabunga: :icon_mrgreen: We have lost our place over the course of the last 3 weeks as we are now hovering at 16th place. IF anyone who crunches BOINC would like to stop in and help out, now is the time...

My 2 (4200+'s) systems on board with this project are averaging about 1200 points per dual core machine, imagine what you can be doing~! :blob3:

Just a reminder to you new Crunchers on board. There are no Check Points or Stop Points. So if your system switches between projects every 60 minutes, you will never finish these work units. They need to be constantly on at this time, in the message boards they are mentioning that they will be changing this in the future but not right now!

Hope This Helps :blob3:

In light of an impending Freezing Rain forecast and impending electrical outages, I am letting the current work units finish, but not allowing new work units to begin.

At least till the storm is past...:sad5:

Milestones achieved today:

Vaughan rained in 50,000 points :wav:

Liuqyn rained in 100,000 points :wav:

Nice Job Gentlemen, keep up the great participation! :blob3: :blob3:

We have moved up to 14th place overall with this continued effort, great job to everyone crunching this project.

"Alright! Who drained the Pool?"

Sure would be nice if the FP WUs would last a little longer. To see that many disappear so quickly (even though they are limiting allocation now) makes me think that quads and hexes are feeding from the trough...

Be Gone Ye! (oh... I see that the Aqua MT queue is empty. Well... No Wonder!)

[scowls in Vaughan's general direction]

Liuqyn, between you two, all I get is scraps now...

One day, when I'm rich from some long lost inheritance, well...

{yeah, what are the chances of that!}

I'm trying to break half a million here!

Oops! Sorry Tamaster mea culpa. I was trying to catch liuqyn but he has too much lead now that the FP tasks have run out. I snagged one of the Diabasic tasks (or whatever they're called) and it was 300+ hours so that critter soon got aborted.

Primegrid ran out of AP26 tasks so the nVidia GPUs are looking for work again. Might try Seti Beta.

Off to other projects now.

Will credit from aqua@home before I joined this project be carried over?

NeoGen

Hi crazy geek! Welcome to the Team. :)

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) no, boinc credits don't carry over with the individuals when they switch teams. Your credits earned in the past with any other teams will remain with the other teams.

Make yourself at home!

Seems like Aqua@Home (http://aqua.dwavesys.com/) has been taken off-line, hasn't been responsive for going on a week.

Anyone know the story?

Maybe calling the main web site (http://www.dwavesys.com/en/dw_homepage.html) might help find the answer!

Unless it is the strong sell that is staring me in the face when I look at that site now, then I have got to be missing something.
I couldn't see the project referenced there anywhere anymore. (it has all changed since I last looked, quite some time ago)
Not even "Raw Tech > Publications" makes any reference to it.
Got to pay for the full articles / subscription now too.

There was a report that there was some work required that necessitated a shutdown, but no word that it would not come back up

Aqua is back online: http://aqua.dwavesys.com/

sounds like they had a close call.

However its a shame they don't have any tasks for us to crunch yet.

Gpu's seem to be big with this project what flavor of work units does this project require in being able to run with the big dogs? :blob3:

vaughan

Nflight, last time I checked they had stopped supporting the GPU apps as the CPU version was more efficient. When you can get tasks to crunch it uses all cores per task (like BURP does). so AMD hex cores rule.
