Hi all,

My work laptop had its antivirus software changed from Kaspersky to Symantec Endpoint Protection. Now it detects Yoyoathome as being a trojan.

The message is:

crunch_101_windows_intelx86.exe and the risk is Backdoor.Trojan

The action it took automatically was to delete the file. :(

I suppose its just as well that I'm not currently actively running yoyoathome. :icon_wink:

Anybody else encountered a similar issue?

Kaskersky is THE number AV, why would you change to an inferior product?

Many antivirus projects detect the OGR app as virus for some reason... this has been going for ages. OGR's application must have some part of the inner code equal to a virus signature, even tough it's not one.

Both the Dnet and Yoyo's website mention that. If possible, try to set that alarm to "ignore" or add the file to the trusted/white list of the antivirus.

Head office's decision. When the KAV contract ended I switched to AVG Registered. It got uninstalled by the contracted computer guru and replaced with Symantec.

Ask your IT bods to set an exception for the .exe dead easy to do. Just have to justify it... which migt be the hard part!

I look after the McAfee managed anti-virus for Welsh NHS practices on our system.

H.O. have just turned your CPU into treacle mode.

Shame on them.

Probably unrelated but call it serendipity ... the laptop's screen is now dead, 2 days after Symantec got installed! Very mysterious. :icon_twisted:

I'll be getting a new laptop soon. :icon_mrgreen:
