New site design

Hello everyone,

DKAZGT2 and I have been working on a new site design for a while. It is finally finished. I hope you guys like it as much as we do.

If you do want to switch back, you can. Simply go to your User CP, then click Edit Options under the Settings & Options header. Scroll to the very bottom and choose your default skin. Save.

Also, please let us know if there is anything you think should be adjusted color wise. This is not completely finished because we wanted the feedback of the users.

Oh man, freaked me out just now when I came here. :icon_lol:

Looks good so far. Only minor thing I see is the header with "Home, Register, etc." aren't aligned with the center.

And the Arcade stuff is back! :icon_wink:

I figured it wouldn't be for everyone. If you want to go back to the old design, go to your User CP and change the setting.

I like it, it adds depth, character, color, but still loads fast.

Looks aligned now. Not sure if it was my browser loading it for the first time or you fixed it, but it looks fine. :)

Actually I just bookmarked the Arcade and I can jump there in my pleasure, I Have been there all this time, as I am a very old Asteroids addict.

Pac-Man was removed. :-( It was one of my favorite games, but I read that it was removed in the last update to the arcade software due to copyrights.

And Moonlander's high scores were reset, altough the all time score is still there by gamma^ray.

I reset a games score to make sure that the arcade was connecting to the DB correctly.

I went and changed my options back to the old style. While I think the new one looks nice, I found that it was harder on my eyes.... too dark. Just an old fart with old eyes. :icon_mrgreen:

I did the same Brucifer. The new site has a little bit too much contrast for me. Maybe just used to the old colors but I switched back.

overall, i prefer the new site. there's a few things that are rough (that i can't puy my finger on), but i like the "-on-black-background" ... easier on MY eyes than glaringly bright white bg.

of course i use a black bg (to white/grey/colored text) on irc ;)

Jeff... we're missing an image, "tag.png".
It appears on the forums on threads that people apply tags on. Right now we seem to be missing that file, no image there, just the square with the red cross indicating lack of an image.

P.S. - I was just checking it and seems that the image is missing on both skins.

That's odd, looks like you have the forum headers (Bio science, chemistry, etc) out of place?

It must be some browser incompatibility, I have IE 8 and it is showing up ok here.

Agreed.
It appears that your Opera browser has an issue with some of the formatting
I find it is all ok in:
FF 3.0.10 (Linux + Win)
IE 6 +7 on Win

yeah it is my opera10beta. and since it is beta instead of alpha the things have not become better. but it doesn't natter cause it doesn't bother me
