Are there any major improvements or bug fixes in this last round?

It would be nice if they found a way to cut down the cpu usage...

I'll get in on this on Friday I hope.

I couldn't say on the bug fixes.... haven't read the sheet. Seems to run about the same as the last though. This one was set for like 47 days when I first kicked it off.

I fitted the 9800 GT, downloaded the CUDA Dnet, started running it on my 9950 Quad. Crunching really fast.
I'll check back in the morning.
Morning arrives, strangely quiet in the office. My PC is off. Turning it on failed. I suspect the power supply gave up the ghost. Pulled out the old one, dropped in a new one. Yeah it works. But the 9800 GT is now sitting outside the PC.
I think I'll buy 750W power supply.
Does anyone have a recommendation?
The site I will buy from is www.ebuyer.co.uk.

Ototero, I use the Corsair HX620W Power Supply in my main computer and have not had a problem with it at all, but I got mine on Ebay and it was much cheaper than ebuyer. There is one on Ebay UK but it still has six days left on the auction...
Other than Corsair I have had good luck recently with the Antec Neo Power series... I have a NeoPower 650 Blue in another computer and that one is modular too, I would at least suggest the modular type regardless of brand. Good luck and make sure it has at least two pci-e outputs too for your video card.. 4 for two or more cards. :)

With the 9800GT you can run a 450 or 550w p/s with it. I ran one on a 450 for a long time, and wasn't a super brand name one. I've got a 550 installed on the one 9800GT that I still have running. It's a BFG power supply.

I also have a few systems running the 650w Earthwatt power supplies by Antec. I've have good luck with those and they are quiet ones too.

I have 4 or 5 of the Corsair HX620 p/s running in the pharm, they're good. Recently they released a 650 version too.

Thanks guys, time for some research. I'll report back on what I've chosen.

I believe I am running an Enermax 500 in the one I've got my 4850 crunching in. It only has a dual core CPU that is 65 watts though with 3 hard drives. I have 4 Enermax power supplies running 24/7 and haven't had one die yet.

two of my comps are running antec earthwatt 380s with a PhII x4 and 9800 GTX+. infact did have GTX285s in both at one time. both fully active desktop/gaming machines for family members.

my main rig is running "pc power and cooling" 860watt with phII x4 and 3x GTX285.

I just got an Arctic Pro 950W.
See http://www.compucase-hec.co.uk/psu_arctic_power_950.htm for the specs.
Got it on ebay for £46. Brand new, a customer had bought it and returned it (cos it was the wrong one).
An absolute bargain.

It's producing about 100,000,000 keys per second on RC5.

That seems ok to me.
