Vaughan and Liuqyn are on a tight race on DNETC@Home, take a look at that! :)
http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/teams.php?team=46&project=dntc

For anyone who doesn't know this project yet, it is a Distributed.net wrapper (like Yoyo@Home) and the website is the following:
http://dnetc.net/

They got a 1 app for Linux, and 4 apps for Windows (simple x86, ATI, CUDA, CUDA-FERMI)
All apps are 32bit, but I believe they run on 64bit OS.

EDIT: And congrats to both on passing 8,000,000 credits recently! :icon_thumright:

Yes it does run under 64bit Windows.
They added a CPU client but that seems to give Computation errors after 40'ish minutes so I'm back on GPUs only.

Liuqyn and myself have been racing neck and neck on this for a while now. All good fun. 8 M now let's see how gets to 10M first :)

I may just take you up on that 10m challenge....

lets see, my machine currently running rc5 for 54k/day can do over 400k/day in the boinc world. so how many days would that take....

Woow... I can already smell the N2O (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrous) in the air! Or is it rocket fuel? I can't tell but it's gonna be a blast! :)

fun to watch this! :-)

I might just push my systems to reach 1,000,000 points after all, I want to watch this too! Could be some serious clatter on those Cruncher systems! :blob3:

The race seems to be almost over, Liuqyn is about to cross the finish line in the next few hours. :)

But we seem to have a new player in the Team, TheGrayMan, joined us yesterday and got over 500k credits...seems to be outputting about 300k a day!

Nflight, you're going to be roadkill in the next 1 or 2 days! :icon_lol:

if the new guy keeps this pace, I'll have to commit resources here longer then intended.

Liuqyn has crossed the finish line today! :)

vaughan is about to reach his 9,000,000 credits milestone, and it seems TheGrayMan just left the Team. :-(

EDIT: And the Team reched 20,000,000 credits! Go AMD USERS!! :)

Liuqyn crossed the finish line but seems he kept on going for one more victory lap. He is now at 11,000,000 and counting! Go Liuqyn Go!! :icon_mrgreen:

Well folks I went to turn on the juice and the power supply went boom. So now with new power on board I am back to crunching full blast. There is no way I can catch the other two people on this project. But I will get over 1,000,000 by Saturday! :blob3:

Nflight
06-20-2010, 12:45 AM
Its now Saturday and I just passed 1,000,000 Woo Hoo :blob3:

liuqyn

nice job...

Its now Saturday and I just passed 1,000,000 Woo Hoo :blob3:
Nice job indeed! :)

So now... Double or nothing? Go for the 2,000,000?

liuqyn
06-20-2010, 01:43 AM
kinda hard to go back to nothing though. so double it has to be.

Nflight

I am probably going to head for the double plus .5 as this is the next plateau for Free-DC stats thingy! Super output right now, Last time I ran this it took quite a while to reach 40,000 points in a day, now everyday I reach that level... GRrrreat! :blob3:

congrats guys.... these are some impressive numbers. I hope to add a million or two if the project last until the winter months. Its just to hot to run any kind of GPU work now. We are currently chasing a few badges on WCG and excited to see clean energy project phase 2 in beta. I hit 113 degrees Fahrenheit on my AMD/WCG powered water heater yesterday.

And Liuqyn keeps on running lap after lap even after the race is finished... 12,000,000!! :)

NeoGen

I think Liuqyn engaged the auto-pilot and is just enjoying the ride, lap after lap... 15,000,000! :icon_mrgreen:

EDIT: And AMD Users also passed by the 30,000,000 credits milestone at the same time! :)

hehe, I did turn off the afterburners though and am currently just cruising.

I put some power on GPU Grid so DNet is just rumbling along now. Waiting for some Simap tasks on July 1.

Congrats vaughan on 25,000,000 credits! :icon_thumright:

I hope you forgive me for this, I hate to be a spoiler, but I love to see a good race going... :icon_mrgreen:

Liuqyn, you better start your engines again if you want to keep your #1 spot, vaughan is right on your tail... just a million credits away from you! :icon_razz:

Congrats vaughan on 25,000,000 credits! :icon_thumright:

And closing in fast!!!

I'm trying for a million points a day.

Thanks for noticing NeoGen.

Geez... These GPU projects are killing my BAM stats. I had to earn the 3,650,224 the hard way!!

I'll never catch up!!! :sad5:

It seems DNETC has swallowed a fur ball. Somethings up my systems will not download any new work units and everything keeps banging away at telling me CUDA 3.1 is needed. What the heck is that? Then when researching what the heck is going on, the Server for the web site goes down. Ah Rats.....

AMDave

Hmm. It didn't so much swallow a fur ball as cough one up.
PS - the site is back up.
Yes.
They provided a new upgraded the client with a minimum CUDA driver version 25x.x and higher.
BUT the existing CUDA 2.3 is also still valid.
I have tested that this 2.3 app is still available: Linux_AMD64 is anyway
I am not sure why your machine has deferred to the 3.1 client unless your driver compatible with that version but there is a client-app compile problem.
e.g. the new client deos not defer back to the old client if the new client fails to work.
I can't recall ever seeing two client apps for the same base architecture on any project (regardless of GPU version).
They have managed it well so far.
But it is not surprising that they would run into a problem with this eventually.
Scan the project forums.
If anyone else is having the same problem I am sure we will hear more about it very soon.
