The Free-DC stats will experience intermittent outages today and possibly tomorrow whilst Bok conjures some serious sys-admin auto-magic.

Please be patient.

Services will return to normal shortly.

This is a planned outage and not a calamity.

No. They are down for me too.
I can ping the server, so the connection is ok and the boxen is breathing.
It just seems to be crazy-busy doing something on all cores, hopefully something that Bok has told it to do. :shrug:

Its down until Sunday I think. Bok must be travelling somewhere as he would normally get a hardware issue fixed pronto. Maybe he installed the SSD he was considering and as I've found from my experience with them, it died. Let's home he gets the site back on the air soon.

There were no changes made to the server.
The outage was completely unexpected.
A reboot failed to resolve the issue.
It has to wait until Bok is back home.

@Dirk -- Oh ya, but I've known Bok since the early days when we were both with US-Distributed, and before the team name was changed to that actually. So I've grown fond of his stats. :-)

Free-DC stats update:
Bok has found a HDD problem with the web server and will seek to replace it with other hardware on-hand as soon as he can
But given the persistent I/O errors, which may have propagated into the backups, there is the possibility this may require a full rebuild of the web server.
Couple of days and she'll be right. No worries mate.

It sounds like the SATA controller on the mobo had failed.
Bok has completed a marathon hardware and OS rebuild.
The forum, stats and hosted sites are up and can be expected to stay that way, although there may be a planned outage or two in the near future.
There are a few of minor issues but they are known and will be resolved as the config is refined and / or code is replaced.

There was a power outage that affected Bok's Free-DC servers.
The servers are back up but some stats will not show correctly until some db repairs are complete.
Bok is on the job and the repairs are in progress.

Bok says "There are a few problem rows still in the user and host tables. I have backups and will restore those individual rows in the morning. Looks to have affected about 2000 rows from 3.5Million. It might mean that some users appear as new if there is new xml exports prior to me restoring, which is not a huge deal."

At present it is "crying-with-a-hat-on-your-head" as they say in Dutch (but then pronounced as "huilen met een hoed op")

Don't worry Dirk, Bok is real. There are a few of us who know him personally. He is a good man but he has a family first and foremost. So be patient and the world of stats will return in a few days. Noting that it takes several people to make sure the software complies with its function, while it takes only one man with a finger to push the manual reset button.

The site is back up again, but data hasn't been proccessed since 2012-01-14, as my POEM score is still in the 90,000s instead of 377,242
The various scores do as yet not add up to a total either. Signature is back to normal and the scores will soon catch up I hope.

Ah! Scores are recent now, just the mega milestones left for tomorrow -as all progress from 14th till 17th is included in 17th score-.
Got a string of 5 team #5 positions from 250k till -and including- 2.5M for now, plus a #5 in Clanks.

Can you use your contacts with Bok again? Just when I want to know my progress in GCW sieving Free-DC has a technical issue.
In the meantime my GCW score gets better at the cost of my PPS score. Regular CPU work seems scarce at PrimeGrid these days.

There seems to be more hardware failure then they thought. The Stats Tool Configuration platform has also been partially ruined. A rebuild is in the worx. It may take longer then the whole weekend before the site is up and running. This is a 3 day Holiday weekend for most businesses, getting parts in short order will be difficult. Bok is working on it though.

Right now I am having Stats Withdraw, can't sleep at night even after turning off the coffee maker two days ago. No sugary sweets, nothing to keep my heart rate up, its just weird. A life without Stats is like losing your best friend! Oh my god did I really say that? :blob3:

FreeDC Stats is almost 100k behind BOINCStats for my scores at the moment and has not updated the last 7 hours or so.

FreeDC stats lost the combined score twice today and on my personal page Primegrid has by now been renamed to (A), something weird going on.
All Milestones after October 2012 are now set to 7 March 2013, my name is gone from both signature and personal page, AMD Users has been renamed to 14 in my signature, flag is gone from signature, I'd say: something weird going on, definitely.

I think Bok has been having problems for a couple of days as I have noticed that there have been several missed update times and a couple of times I have been unable to connect when I tried. One thing about Bok is that he does a better job on his "hobby" with less mistakes and downtime than many services that I pay for.

This mishap has all the signs of at least one f**ed up table, as some database cursors point nowhere at this time, or to wrong places.
My name is not connected to my id, the Britsh Virgin Islands are not connected to their flag.
With me, our group id points to 14 instead of AMD Users, people have no combined score. Just check your page Terry, and it's no better there, only you are member of 96 now and your Moo! score has taken the place of your combined score in your signature.

Yup things are messed up right now but it'll all get figured out. Right now I'm busy just playing with these 2 GPU's (MSI 6870 and MSI 6850) Knowing nothing about them Afterburner might get me in trouble. I just keep bumping them up and so far so good. I have the 6870 at Core Clock at 1006 and Memory Clock at 1102 and on the 6850 the Core Clock is 912 and the Memory Clock is at 1099. Just bumped the 6870 to Core 1015, The only problem is the heat. The 6870 does fine in the case with just it's 2 fans and a large case the 6850 on the other hand I had to open the case and put a 12" fan blowing in it to keep it below 72C. With the outside fan it goes happily along at 66C.

Take away the side door of the casing and set a 35cm table blower on them, that's what I do during summers.
