Go like blazes!

Bad news I am afraid. :(

DynaPing's days are numbered (small number)

The old news item that thread refers to was 14-March-2010

Project status
March 14, 2010
Unfortunately we have run into problems to get the project stable. Instead of becoming more reliable when more hosts are added, the reliability actually degraded. Until we have a very bright idea about how to solve this problem we will not be updating the project anymore. The project will remain active but it may be terminated if we cannot find a solution.

Willy said on 8-Aug-2010 "the project will keep running for a couple of weeks" so I think we'll probably see it end by the end of this month.

Awww man... we needed a couple more months to be able to reach #1...:-(
Guess we'll have to settle with #3, but we scared the daylights out of the other teams with our daily values.

Anyone interested in running GIGRIB? Doesn't have teams support though... :icon_neutral:

I will not be changing to the GIGRIB service.
Whilst it is distributed, it is not a project.
I will revert to scripts and tools that I was using prior to Dynaping to check my links.

Well... even if the project ends right now we can proudly say we reached the 1 Million credits on it! A feat achieved by only 3 teams in the project! (us included)
Congratulations everyone for the push! Lets keep pushing until the very last day! :)

And congrats in advance also to bwhite and his crew of supporters because he is minutes away from reaching the 100,000 milestone! I think as soon as the stats update on the website he will have it! :)

As soon as the project shuts down it is going straight to the Wiki. Third place deserves an entry on our Wiki main page. :icon_mrgreen:

Willy advises that "Dynaping will stop operating on September 1st."

It's a shame, we were so close to getting World #1 on this... :-(

I'm sure something could be done if they said what exactly their problem was, but instead they just say "things aren't exactly going as we wanted them to". :icon_neutral:

Grats bwhite. Your 100K is in the bag.
If you have a client to throw around I have a 'close-out' challenge to level up AMDave. ;-)
I'm not going to make it to 100K at this rate even with the additional contributor's help (thanks for the team contribution whoever you two are)

It's too late to level up sentient_life. We messaged him but never got a response back. :bmmr:
