Collatz version 2.05 is now available on the Optimized Applications (http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/power_apps.php) page for those running Windows with CUDA 3.1 drivers. It is not compatible with previous CUDA versions, so if you do not have the 257.21 (or higher) nVidia drivers installed, this is not for you. The application will run on both x86 and x64 systems.

Remember to update your drivers to version 257.21 or higher if you wanna try this app.

If anyone tests it, pleasy say if its faster, slower or same-old-same-old... :)

They (the Cuda 3.1 Collatz 2.05 WUs) run about 5-6 minutes faster than the Cuda 2.3 on my GTX 260 (192 shaders version) 35.23 vs. 41.03 min

Looks like it's interferring with my pet project, Leiden Classical. Time left to finish keeps going UP instead of down, jobs look like they're 'hanging', while actually they are not, but time information has gone haywire...

That's odd... I think Leiden Classical is a CPU only project... can you tell if the new Collatz CUDA 3.1 apps use more processor power than the older ones? They shouldn't use much, or anything, I think...

Hi NeoGen,

I just visited the Leiden forum, it appears that they created WU's and made a mistake resulting in WU's that are a factor 10 bigger somewhere
"There was a typo in a workunit template we did not find in the test phase (missed an extra 0); it has been corrected; the deadline is now increased and the estimated FLOPS too. Sorry about that. If you want you can drop / abort the workunits; MarkW can easily reschedule them in a few seconds...More information on the WU can be found at forum_thread.php?id=420"
