On a related note, I don't seem to be listed in the AMD Users prime finders department...... I have 1 Sophie, and 1 Proth to my name ATM. I also have a further 4 Sophies in the wings; I don't yet know if I'm discoverer or checker on those yet - have to wait and see (once Proth hits all the sixes iun the n department).

Do I get an entry?

Hi Area 51,

Could it be that your scores for PrimeGrid (and those for Boinc, Einstein, MilkyWay and Seti) are listed under another group, GPU Users, or is that another Area 51?

I think I've hijacked this thread enough - wouldn't want to steal MiHosts's considerable thunder. Can a Mod please move my previous posts and Dirk's response to a new thread so I can get to the bottom of this please?

I'm the only active Area 51 (I think I was second to the American).

Are you referring to BOINCStats entries? I must admit, things do seem a little confused since I crunch for the GPU USers GRoup in everything except PrimeGird.

Where does our stats feed come from?

I see several cross-project identifiers in scope:
http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=search&proj=&team=&name=Area%2051&exact=N&cross=N
but I think that is not really part of the problem you describe

our stats are generated by Ototero directly from the source projects
however prime finds are not in the stats to my knowledge

A lot (most) of what NeoGen has captured and put on the wiki is the result of painstaking manual lookups
the problem I see is that NeoGen likely does not have sufficient information available to identify and capture your finds.

I think the key here is to resolve in which projects the primes were identified and, if possible, which finder code they were reported under on Dr Caldwell's site.
That kind of information helps NeoGen to capture the finds and then update them when he has time.

Did you find them all under PrimeGrid?

Ahh, I see.

Yes, all my find have been done through PrimeGrid, and I don't think I will be operating outside of PrimeGrid for quite a while.

I'll rummage back through my emails and find the notifications for the two confirmed finds. I can find Caldwell's proof codes from the link included in those and post them back here. Once the other 4 finds are confirmed - which doubtless will be some weeks yet, I can do likewise for those.

OK, here is the Caldwell entry for the Proth:
http://primes.utm.edu/primes/page.php?id=97256

and the corresponding entry for the Sophie Germain:
http://primes.utm.edu/primes/page.php?id=97033

FInally, here is my Primes found listing page @ PrimeGrid:

Hopefully, that will be enough - although if there is anything I can do to help the process, I'm quite willing.

I'm pretty sure that is the info that NeoGen would be looking for
I have PM'd him to have a look and enlighten me/us on the process.

please enjoy some music-on-hold (CC) (http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CCQQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jamendo.com%2F&ei=vPhcTd6HNMyGcd_TjI8K&usg=AFQjCNGPuU6sdSE65b2KEwP8FNJ_FW1pBA&sig2=l6KjqY4hl72af97rSjV0CA) of your choice whilst we wait for the dawn chorus to rouse NeoGen from his beauty sleep :P

ROFL.

I'm happy to write a PERL page scraping script if that would help his manual efforts. I'd have to know where he went for his information, and what bits he extracts, but the offer's there if it woulkd make things easier for the team in general.

He would have to install a PERL interpreter, and one non-standard package, but that would be all.

Hey guys! :)

Sorry for the delay... I used to have much more free time to check the forums 6 months ago, when I was unemployed. lol :icon_lol:

Now I spend almost 12 hours a day away from home, and the free nights and weekends have to be shared with the Mrs, so time has been a scarce resource, almost as rare as gold or platinum for me lately... and unfortunately it can't be purchased anywhere. :icon_rolleyes:

Anyways, back into topic, the wiki entries as AMDave said have all been painstakingly typed in manually over the years. To create a new member's profile I have to check every single project we have on the Wiki against the new individual and see if he/she participated on it, and if yes, how many points it got. Then those projects all need to be linked back to the new user profile I created, also manually. Then I check all the contests pages, and repeat the procedure.
And finally for the primes I do check on Chris Caldwell's Top 5000 page. At some point in time I was considering also going into the NPLB primes but they were just way tooooooo many! lol :icon_lol:
And of course, when a new profile is created, all the categories that it enters (prime finders, nationality, etc) have also to be updated.

Now for the good news... :icon_wink: I am better at doing whole batches of work at once instead of little bits every other day, for example a few days ago I spent an afternoon sweeping the last 3 months of new users registrations one by one and banned several dozens of spammers off our forums.

And I do have piled up quite a big list of stuff on my To-Do list for the Wiki already, so with MiHost's discovery I think it's just about time to sweep up the wiki again and update a whole bunch of stuff, and add several loads of users and some projects.

The thing with Chris Caldwell's primes site is that he keeps record of the real name of people, which sometimes makes it difficult to know who are they, like in the case of MiHost. (I would never know his name was Ricky L Hubbard). So every now and then I ask people if they have prime numbers, and if yes what name I should be searching for. Some other times I can find them by searching for the prime number itself on the database, but not always.

I used to have a Wiki requests thread for people to ask me to add them or anything else... nobody posted on it for almost 6 months, but here it is:
http://amdusers.com/forum/showthread.php?6421-Wiki-requests-thread

So... in conclusion... stay tuned, because anytime now I can take an afternoon and do a sweep on the Wiki and a whole bunch of new things will suddenly pop-up on it. :)
After doing those batches I usually post the "release notes" on my blog here at AMD Users.

Anybody who contributes for nothing doesn't need to apologise - very grateful for your continued contribution above and beyond.

Had one of my pending Sophies confirmed as initial finder yesterday evening:
http://primes.utm.edu/primes/page.php?id=98595

...still 3 more in the pending pile :icon_lol:

Had to switch over to PPS since we seem to have run out of Sophie work ATM. :icon_rolleyes:
