Given Bigdawg has two tests outstanding in SOB, it's a fair bet that they have at least two machines. The chart, which is notoriously wrong for me suggests they are pulling a bit over 1 meg...perhaps 2 Athlons?

Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome. I joined the team last night,.
I am running an Atholon64 3200 newcastle core. Just recently upgraded from an xp2500 so i am still getting used to this cpu. If I read the forum correctley the team goal is on SOB. If i am wrong please let me know.
It is 9:30 am my time in idaho so i will be around most of the day.

k, excellent.

1 thing on 17 do you know if you are using the standard client or the newer SSE2 client, as you have a 64 you can run the newer client which is significantly faster.

glad you joined :thumbleft: just wondering what made you pick us tho as oppose to any of the other teams?

I am running the new sse2 client, I seem to be doing a blk every 3 1/2 minutes on average. Dont know if this is good or not. In the last hour did 16 and a partial block. The main reason I picked this team besides being amd oriented, is that someone went to a lot of trouble to put this website and forum together. To me that shows a willingness to interact with your team mates. I also noticed that there was an amd user team on the boinc projects that i crunch. So after exploring this site and the team pages on the other projects I joined the amd users team. Sorry didnt mean to ramble, have about 2 pots of coffee in me.

Welcome BigDawg,

You ramble all you like. Sometimes it's nice to read a post that gets written as the mind creates it.

We have a presence is most DC projects. Clink the Stats link down the right hand side of the main page to see what we are running.

Thanks Ototero,
There was one other reason i forgot to mention. I read a post by
empty_5oul ( "yep, i prefer being small than having countless membersmany of whom are glory hunters, just adding themselves to the current 1st ranked team.") And that quote pretty much decided me.

Compared to some teams, we are small, but friendly.

I see you've joined us in 17, CP and LHC. Have a look a TKC, you can run it along side anything without impact.

You'll appear in our stats as of tomorrow morning (UK time) when I update them,

ok, here is a question, what does it mean that i have 20 points and i am not a subscriber to amd users.com

Beerknurd
11-07-2004, 06:52 PM
Don't worry about the points. We used to have point totals to show who was the most active. Then something went wrong and we started getting points for every link we clicked on.... etc.. it was a big mess so spjeff69 disabled the points..

And about the subscriber thing.... I'm not sure what that means, but it says i'm not either. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Welcome BigDawg. What Beerknurd said is correct - don't worry about the points thingy or the not subscribed msg. Glad you joined us, empty_5oul's post that caught your eye was very accurate. What spec is your A64, what motherboard etc? I know some of us have these CPUs and others have them on their Christmas wish lists!

BigDawg

Hi Vaughan
its an athlon64 3200+, MSI k8t Neo board. 1GB(2x512) Geil dual channel ddr400. And the case is a Tsunami Dream by Thermal Take. Ok, now it is question time. I used a program called cpu-z and it says the codename for my cpu is newcastle and the multiplier is 11 and it is running at 2208 MHz. All the athlon64 articles i have read say clawhammer and multiplier of 10 and either 2000 or 2100MHz. Could you point me to the right ones or shed some light on this for me?
almost forgot, 128k L1 and 512k L2

i dont know mate, but i use 2 different programs to check my figures, CPUZ as you said and CPU ID, i have it zipped - if you put an e-mail i will send it over so you can see what that thinks you have installed ??

what socket motherboard do you have 939 or 748 ?? that may be the difference between the 2 64 3200+ processors - only a guess tho.

BigDawg

c4guru@cableone.net socket 748

send it on over and i will see what it says
cheers.
