vaughan asked me to setup team sigs for you guys.

You can take a look at what they look like here:

http://www.tedpennings.com/jeff/

You can also configure your sigs really easily that way.

If you have any suggestions/changes/additions let me know.

Doesn't work.....

Neither does the SOB signatures....

Wonder why?????

vaughan

I don't understand why they don't work in our forum but they do in the Free-DC forum.

Seems like ever since Jeff upgraded to the newer version of php nuke, no signatures work. The boinc sigs are the only one's.....

That's right, this forum is phpBB.

The newest version disables any image that is a php script for security reasons.

There is a fix for it though, I just have no idea what it is.
It works at the Official FAH Forum (http://forum.folding-community.org/index.php). So if you guys find a hack to make them work, let me know as I could use the hack at another forum. Feel free to use them at other sites for the time being.

I guess I should have tested them before making an announcement.

If someone can find a workaround that allows PHPBB to display dynamic scripts, let me know.

Post it here, thanks.

Jeff

Maybe you can find something like that on this website.

I asked at the phpbb forums. I have also checked the phpbbhacks website but I haven't found anything.

I may figure out how to make static images, but that may take a little time.

i found this.
http://www.phpbbhacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=167921&highlight=sigs#167921

it says your board has to support GLib. hope it makes sense to you.

Here are some links with more info:

I created a test board and tried editing that line to its original state, no luck.

I didn't know there was a tkc sig....

Too bad the sig doesn't work here.

My TKC Sig (http://gfx.statgfx.com/old/tkc.cgi?&username=Beerknurd&trans=yes&template=tkcfull&.jpg)

http://www.statgfx.com/statgfx/getlink.cgi

You can create sigs for :

Distributed.net
Folding@Home
Project Dolphin
Seti@Home
TKC
United Devices

Like I said before. None of them work in here, but I wanted to post it anyways. In case you post in another forum somwhere.

looks good beerk, if a little plain.

i found this while looking for AMD stuff online http://www.teamamdgamer.net/index.php seems quite cool, just wondering does AMD as a company support this web site cause we could have supported by: AMD on the front, would finish it off.

I read this on neil mundays site:

Some forums, like the latest phpBB forums have prevented image links to PHP scripts being included in posts to such forums. To enable your graphic to be viewed in these forums and other web sites:

1. use "/" where you would normally use "&"
2. use ":" where you would normally use "="
3. do not use a "?" anywhere in the URL
4. add "/.png" to the end of URL (this is not required by seti2.mundayweb.com but is required by phpBB forums)

AND when i edit the script to match, this is what i get:

Not Found
The requested URL /user:BigDawg/team:AMD Users/color1:yellow/color2:yellow/bg:6/kind:image/.png was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at sigs.canyonlake.net Port 80

hopefully this is progress, i dont know enough about php to tell

Thanks, that will be great. I hope you can get this sorted so the D2OL stats will display properly. Who knows, one day we might even have 17 or Bust sigs that work.

Empty_5oul

sounds good.

if you are doing it in .png format that is much better for me as it exports much better. bill the sig you are using i can send you in .png format if you want which should improve things - as you conerted from my .gif to .png

one thing on png's if i post mine as it currently is that people here can save it and open it in graphics program to edit. if you do this can you group layers before you save as otherwise people can just open it up and nick bits, e.g. the background etc.

BigDawg
11-24-2004, 06:09 PM
that would be great if you could send to me as a .png
thanks mate

I think I got them working....

Go ahead and run the setup guide again (linked to in the first post) and see it works for you guys. If you run into any problems, let me know as I haven't tested it in depth yet.

Make sure you check the box for question 8.

OK except BigDawg's sig has the logo for Extreme Systems and not AMD Users!

ps Mine's still not working.

BigDawg
11-30-2004, 05:39 AM
that would be my fault, i think i clicked on the wrong png. image.
will go fix that right now.
And mine doesnt work if i put it in the signature, but works if i put it in by hand above it.

http://sigs.canyonlake.net/static/vaughan.png

see, yours works if i just paste it in.

Let's try again.

PS2pcGAMER
11-30-2004, 07:03 PM
Weird, I have no idea why mine works and your's doesn't.

I copied and pasted your signature exactly as you have it and it works fine for me in my signature.

BigDawg
11-30-2004, 08:49 PM
I cant get it to work in sig either, but if i use this one in sig it works..
and they are both in phpbb...i dont understand :banghead:

Lagu

Anyone who knows about my :?:

How skall I do if i vill show my stats by a sigs? Copy and paste into your vbulletin control panel. :?

What is vbulletin and where can I find it. May I copy and paste every time as I vill post someting :?:

Lagu

vaughan
02-20-2005, 08:55 PM
Lagu go to this page:

http://sigs.canyonlake.net/setup.php

and select the radio button for item 1 as Image (this is the default anyway)

then enter your D2OL username in step 2 then select AMD Users radio button in step 3 for your team name then select your text colours in steps 4 and 5 (experiment and see what you prefer) then select a background image for step 6 (I like AMD Users #3 but its your choice). Step 7 - I don't know what this does so I left mine alone but you can play with the settings I guess. Then for step 8 select Yes for static image for phpBB forums and click on Submit.

Observe the sig you created.

Go back and modify until you are satisfied with the outcome.

Next, copy all of the phpBB line including the [IMG] and closing tags into the Your account -> Your info section from our AMD Users site Home page
Signature (optional) white box

then click Save Changes

Stats sig should start working in your posts but may take 1 hour to become active so don't panic.

Have fun :!:

i can remember making those graphics, lol.
btw is everyone happy with them ? i can make some alterations however major or minor.

vaughan i also think is definatley the best colour scheme - i just tried most other combinations but that suits us and the forum well.

Lagu
02-21-2005, 07:55 PM
Thanks Vaughan.

I have nou copy and paste the tags in my account as you has told me. I must be awaiting ca 1 hour to see if the sig vill work.

Hi, I am just checking in on this to see how it is working for you guys. Let me know if i can clarify anything on the setup page to make them easier to use as people seem to be confused a little about a few of the options.

Empty_5oul
04-05-2005, 09:50 PM
we are all very happy here thanks, the sigs worked out great.
if you read the questions people have posted above try to clarify those with more text on the site - so they won't have to be asked again.

PS2pcGAMER
04-08-2005, 08:23 AM
I read through the thread and I tried to address the problems and make them clearer. Still, I am not sure if it is clear for new people.

Let me know if I can be clearer or if any other problems (including typos).

Remember, anyone on this site MUST check box #8 on the setup page for them to work on this site, which should fix Lagu's problem if he runs the setup guide again.
