This is what I used for my islandNT.bat file:

cd\DHEP
:begin
start /low /b /wait java -Djava.security.policy=java.policy -jar ITClient.jar 139.184.166.27 KingKong vaughan -i 30 -c 60 vaughanATmyEmailAddress AMD_Users
goto begin

Empty_5oul did you have AMD Users ie space not underline as in AMD_Users?

cd j:\Program Files\Dhep
:begin java -Xms128m -Xmx128m -Djava.security.policy=java.policy -jar ITClient.jar 139.184.166.27 KingKong ototero -i 5 -c 5 ototero@yahoo.com AMD_Users
goto begin

And thanks for joining.

i cant find myself either :S ???

according to stats i havent done any work today, but i have since about 10 - there is nothing to see but under processes i can find java - system and it is at 99% constantly yet i havent done any work according to stats. yesterday i had it running for maybe 3 hours and did quite a lot but today it wont work. - - seeing as i dont want to waste procesing time i think i will leave that project and let people like you who can run it stay there while ill jump between other projects.
ive reverted back to BOINC - climate prediction for a bit

it would probably be easier to do whole lot again, i have sort of half delted bits and it doesnt work properly now.

when i set VNC up so it works properly you can come onto my system ototero and fix it, so it can run DHEP with stats going both to me and AMD_Users.

is it better to run as a service or a batch file. is one faster than the other?

Ototero
12-04-2004, 05:13 PM
The results on the other thread are from the batch file.

Dunno about service times, anyone???

Empty_5oul

service is better as it is automated and will always open on boot - also it is a system service as oppose to a user service.
bill have you been running it for 24hours, as on the stats page it has the number you did in past 24 hours so providiing you have it on for all that time you will get the total you can do.

If you run as a service, the Dos box does not come up, correct? And is it set for "idle" time or how can you change it. I guess would be easiest to go to task box and just make sure priority is low or below normal, right?

I'm running DHEP now.... We'll see how it goes.....

I can't get more than 1 instance to run on my Dell. Has anyone figured it out how yet???

jlangner

Is there a stats page where you can sort by Total Effort on Team Page?

Empty_5oul
12-05-2004, 03:01 PM
beerknurd 1 instance will probably be enough, i see both of you are already on our stats page
http://www.cogs.sussex.ac.uk/users/mmg20/dhe/statsTeam.php?team_id=14

and if you notice we have taken another position on circuits evaluated, yesterday "faf" were in front of us but now we are in front.

jef fi dont think there is an online way but you can copy the whole lot into excel and then do and a-z sort, it keeps the rows together so you dont just get the production in order but the name tagged with it aswell.

Ok well I will continue to let it run.. It's crunching on my dell 3.4 and my gateway 733. It hasn't been crunching long and I'm almost at 2,000,000. We'll see what the scores will be after 24 hours.....

That does kinda suck that you can't see it by work done.... Would it do any good to email DHEP and ask that that be added???

Empty_5oul
12-05-2004, 03:48 PM
maybe it is simple to add, guess we come to expect it as projects develop and new ones are created.

My stats tomorrow will show your positions as at 6:30am Monday.

Beer, if you click the BAT file it will start another session. But they both will run slower.

Beerknurd
12-06-2004, 03:38 AM
I guess I'll run it with 1..... I just hate wasting all that processing power.

BigDawg

why dont you run dhep and lifemapper at the same time, that way each one is doing something, it should work well on yours if you run the cli version of lifemapper

Beerknurd

I may start it tomorrow... I don't think Jeff is running DHEP. Now is a good time to catch up.
