Vaughan,

I see you corrected your client settings.
Welcome on board.
We are almost half way.

Empty_5oul,

I have been working on your access problem. I should have that fixed in about 24 hours time.

DMMc,

could that be your array coming back on line ?

Great to have you aboard on dnet , Bruce.

Chaz and Dave need some competition and I think you are absolutely the man for the job.

2 questions, is there a noticable increase in rc5 client speeds using the amd64 client and does the team have a dnet proxy?

NVM

read this SB: http://www.team-ninja.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=34563

if you have a 64 bit cpu,OS,and client....wOOt!

Got 3 Athlon 64 3000+ (well 2 running, third one still un-assembled atm). Just loaded SuSE 9.2 and getting 27.2 Mnodes  Now just need to check out the RC5 portion of the client.

Empty_5oul

i get nothing like this on my 64 3200+ with Windows 64.
Is it worth installing Suse 9.2 on the HD aswell and is it free ??

thanks for the link NVM

The Linux client is faster on A64's than the Win clients. Having said that, my experience with SuSE has been that it is slower on average than most of the other distro's (don't really know why) but under the current circumstances I'm not complaining about SuSE's speed today.

Athlon 64 3000+ Yesterday Nodes 2.17 T :D

Your problem apears to lie somewhere between the "W" and the "s".

oh darn it ROFLSHMSH !!!

I love the opportunity to say that. sigh.

SB2 is getting some cracking results.
->Thanks to NVM for the assist. Must be no fun at the top there without some decent competition, eh ? With advice like that and a few more members gaining some confidence in the 64-architecture we will get there.

Have I mentioned before how frustrating it is to work with 64-SMP all day and come home to 32-nothin' before?...oh yes, so I have...Shut up Dave!

Congratulations SB2. Nice moves.

Empty_5oul, your d/l delay...was that the d/l of the SuSE core or the Dnet wu's?

Personal Recommendation:
If you want an abosolute cracker of a Linux 64-core try debian-3 (not for kids) without the GUI. (prime sys as a network server too) You'll be looking for really big size fonts to go "wOOt!" :D

....just wish I had bought the right h/w :( DOH !

Empty_5oul

yep Suse is still coming in, lucky i have no dl / ul limits.
it is 3.3 gig and after 12 hours was at 2.3 gig so not much more now. should be complete by the time i get home.

Have yet to try debian without a gui (I do have xandros running on a few machines) but FreeBSD/OpenBSD are my first choice.

Don't know about the 64 bit RC5 timings, that is next on my list of projects to "test". ;)

03-16-2005, 09:31 AM
Wow SB2 great output. I think I need to do what Ironbits at FDC did and go get a Mac mini just for OGR'ing!

SB2
03-17-2005, 12:27 AM
If the question was directed towards me, 2 on RC5 and 14 on OGR, the other 8 are on several different prime number search projects.

Long time when I was in 4th place on OGR... now the team evolved and everyone got big rigs on it and I'm going down rank by rank...

As I can't compete with you guys I think I'll just push it a little more and join the 6 digits club... :P

Empty_5oul
03-19-2005, 09:00 AM
lol, just gradually dropping the ranks

AMDave

It is my great pleasure to thank all team members of the Dnet Project.

Today we hit rank 1000 in RC5 with a 6 figure total passing 100,000 blocks.
Tomorrow we go sub-1000 and another milestone will be achieved.

Excellent contributions Team !
Well done.

AMDave
03-19-2005, 11:41 PM
SB2 your individual numbers are going up but they have dropped out of the team score. NeoGen may not be able to see you in the competition.
PM me if you need help.

Sorry CANCEL THAT !
Sometimes the Dnet Stats server is a little slow to update the individual figures
It is showing up now

SB2
03-19-2005, 11:58 PM
I do not know how the numbers were going up, I was not running dnet the last few days...had other priorities.

However I'm back to the grind as of late this afternoon.

Although the stats website is still accessible, they are currently not
being updated because we are currently investigating some possible
hardware issues that were noticed after a recent power failure.
Hopefully once we are confident about the status of the box, we will
resume stats updates again. Don't worry, since no data loss is
expected. :)

I'd hate to think 3 days crunching is lost.

Brucifer

ya, well the pessimist in me decided last night that it was time to shift over to something else. I've lost too many points in this game from projects that *assured* me that my points were safe............... :)

so I kicked of sztaki again.
