I joined... Is this like chessbrain, so I can run with other projects? Or is it just like any other project like SETI?

it is best run individually - but i guess if you set the priorities the same you could do 2 separate projects at the same time.

i tried that, didnt work so well, especialy if you are running it as a service.

if you are using cli, and set the priority the same as boinc, they just dont seem to balance, i couldnt get them to play well together, one or the other wanted to hog more of the resources. Dont know if it is just my setup, or if it would work for someone else.....

i have found very few can divide equally, the best combo i have made was 17 and WCG they did a 50/50 split when 17 was set to low and then both middle/normal in task manager.

I haven't tried those projects but I'm using a little app called ThreadMaster that I found somewhere as boinc add-ons or something, and it works like a charm to block the cpu priority of several apps. I'm currently splitting boinc with dnet 50/50. (Except when pirates has work, then pirates get full cpu)
And a note for boinc projects, one has to set each of it's apps separatly in the configs with the registry file.

can you not also do it online with the amount they will each recieve ?? e.g. 100 for each project means equal but if 1 got 200 it would then get the majority of time.

also i have finally taken nickth in the daily production for DHEP. i swaped in 2 more machines for you Ototero,

as a team i think we should be happy with todays effort, rankings below:

I'll be with you guys on that project in a few weeks. I'm trying to pick up some ground in SOB. My goal is to at least be in the top ten. I would like to pass Stu, but we are running at about the same rate and it would take me a long time to catch him.... So we will just have to see....

Empty_5oul

seeing as he has almost double your total production you would be there a while.

How does this run? Does it prefer AMD or Intel?

vaughan

They both race through the work. I don't know how you tell which is quicker without stopping all but 1 and measuring. If I did that Bruce would stomp me! LOL.

DHEP works on my machine again, i thought i would try it and today it instantly got a task rather than just timing out.
just wondering how much power i will need to get up their in the top 20 with the rest of you ??
currently i have only 1 AMD 3200+ doing it.

Good luck Beerknurd - have you seen the movie from several years back called The Money Pit. Its a good laugh.

I have 18GHz on DHEP. More in reserve if required. Also got an xp2800 on Seti Classic and giving each of the other PCs a chance to look for aliens occasionally (don't want them to feel they're missing out on the fun).

Should have 7th safe in Ubero soon too, then I can let Webnut77 overtake.

NeoGen wants us to be on the llokout for Pirates as we have fallen back a rank in the team's race. When you are lucky enough to get some Pirates work to do they are very easy to crunch - only a few minutes each. The problem is finding the critters.

I haven't had much success with running LLRnet for the PSP application. I discovered yesterday that the tasks time expire after 7 days and the server rejects a completed task when you try to send it in. This is because they have arbitrarily decided that 7 days is the timeout and the number gets re-allocated to somebody else. OK sh*t happens. So I ran another number full-time and completed it in a day. On trying to send it in discovered their server is down.

Gggggrrrrrrr!!!!!

What happened overnight.

I seem to TOP in the world. AMD Users are also top.

Vaughan has leapt to 2nd place.

All I had was 3 machines running last night. And none of them was a Crap XPM, or Deeper Blue, or Ascii White.
