Can someone please post how to get DHEP to run with the IBM version of Java. I can't seem to get it to work. It's driving me crazy.....

It should, but it might not.

First make sure that you have exactly the right version.

As per another thread about a month ago I have already been through the exercise of proving to myself (much to my chagrin) that there is bu**er all backward compatibility in the Java engines.

Hi Beerknurd,

I had that problem and I fixed it just by running DHEP from Java folder.

1º - Copy all DHEP files to C:\Program Files\IBM\Java14\jre\bin
2º - Restart your computer.
3º - Run DHEP from that java folder

Hope that helps,

Carlos

I run DHEP as a service..... I just click start in the services folder.... Do I have to uninstall from C:/program files/DHE, and re-install in the IBM java folder??

open a dos window and type java -version . what java does ti come up with the same SUN one the new IBM one - which has IBM in the name so is simple to see.
no point in changing loads if the java isnt installed properly.

java version "1.4.2_06"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_06-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_06-b03, mixed mode)

I take it that's Sun java......

Sorry for replying now but I have been busy at university. Today I had the first public presentation about my final project.
About your question, YES, copy the service files into your IBM java folder and run DHEP service from there.
My case worked and the DHEP files are mixed with the java ones. Don't ask me why but it works!
