World Record Generalized Fermat Prime
On 19 Nov 2011 14:03:58, PrimeGrid's PRPNet found the largest known Generalized Fermat mega prime: 75898^524288+1The prime is 2,558,647 digits long and enters Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database (http://primes.utm.edu/primes) ranked 1st for Generalized Fermat Primes (http://primes.utm.edu/top20/page.php?id=12) and 13th overall. This is the first prime found at N=524288.The discovery was made by Michael Goetz of the United States using an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 in an Intel Core2 Q6600 @ 2.4GHz system with 8GB RAM, running 64 bit Windows 7. This GPU took just under 5 hours to probable prime (PRP) test with GenefCUDA. The CPU completed the primality test using pfgw64 in a little over 8 days! Michael is a member of the SETI.USA (http://www.primegrid.com/team_display.php?teamid=189) team.More details to come...

I think it's not so bad with a WCG challenge at the same time :)

My sole result during the challenge (another one finished just after the closure) must have been below the cut-off mark:sad5:

Any idea how long a 321 LLR might take on an 3200 Mhz Intel P4? Cooler making the noise of a jet fighter all the while? 204,888.00 sec.
But the mosquito's don't dare come nearer with the Intel stock cooler screaming like a banshee. Had to up the memory from 1 to 2 GiB to let it run anywhere near decent.

Hmmm, this is crazy !? My Phenom @ 3400 Mhz ( not overclocked ) made the units around 58,000 sec.

Are you sure you didn't make Woodall's from last challenge ? :)

But i have no jet fighter... he is watercooled :)

So we can deduce that a Phenom II@3400Mhz is a much better CPU than a Prescott P4@3200Mhz. I only run it because the micro-ATX mobo in question (that's preventing the use of my Coolermaster Hyper Z600 (http://img.hexus.net/v2/news/coolermaster/hyper-z600-2.jpg) or my Thermaltake BigTyp120 (http://www.megabyte-web.ru/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/20080206_thermaltake_big_typhoon__2.jpg)) will not except much better and it runs my nVidia GT430. I am saving for a new system, but need at least mobo, CPU and RAM, so around 150 Euro's for a start and later more for upgrading, performance-wise.

Nice big, very well ventilated casing you have! Stylishly in back-and-white, if I'm not mistaken.

My own favorite case (http://www.guruht.com/2010/09/antec-lanboy-air-chassis-computer-case.html) (when I win the lottery)
Better ventilated than this case has to offer has yet to be found. I opt for the blue accented version (because it is my favorite colour/color, esteticall-wise), but you can repaint the accents in AMD-Emerald Green, nVidia-Poison Green or Ati-Scarlet Red as well...

Yes very nice.
I also like this one (http://www.nzxt.com/new/products/aluminum_chassis/panzerbox).. but it was even a little bit to small for my water cooling system... :(
