And the new Simap challenge (http://boincstats.com/bam/challengeChat.php?chid=175) starts on January 6th, so you can warm up your CPU and pile up some WUs the day before it begins!

They have fiddled with the startdate, it's already on since 2012-01-05 06:00 GMT!
We can only climb from now on....

We can only climb from now on....

At the lowest point we were at #16, but since we've climbed one position every hour and now are at #13.
Busy completing Malaria WUs on my Win8 machine, so it can join at Simap. At the moment 9 cores/threads at Simap and soon 13.
Will launch my new Llano A6-3500 system (no A8-3800 or A8-3820 for a reasonable price, not even an A6-3600) any day now,
for the time being with Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1866 memory (no G.Skill CAS9 2133 memory for a reasonable price either)
and a nVidia GT430 as sidekick (but a 2 Gb DDR3 HD 6670 in a few days for virtual X-Fire).
This will however mean that a socket 775 and socket 754 system will be scuttled, so the netto gain in cores/threads is nill -but at a significant lower power useage-. I look forward to compare the performance statistics from my old Athlon64 3200+ with those of the A6-3500 (and hope to replace this stopgap APU with a A8-3820 within a year)

At the moment there are six members active in the Simap challenge: B Johansson, Freddie, Hautlle, Nicola, Dr. Iggy and myself.
A truly international team with members competing under the flags of Sweden, Germany, the USA, Italy, Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands.
But we sure could use some Aussie, Canuck or more of Uncle Sam's assistance if we want to climb a bit...

P.S.: Can anybody give the Rosetta server a kick? It stands in the way of my planned Llano-upgrade. Their forum server is down as well (most likely the same box), so I have twittered/tweeted them.
The three boxes that are involved in the switch of parts all have a queue of Rosetta WUs waiting to get uploaded.
And my son -working under my account- is waiting for the AGP HD 3850 that now is still a part of the soon-to-be-phased-out socket 754 box.

Four more of us have joined: Bender10, Ken429H, Dinobotclone from the USA and Lysergius from Denmark.

We are slowly gaining on Sceince Little Helpers, one of the 31 teams that are competing with a total of 431 participants,
and have as yet a comfortable advantage over Team China
