:? i have tried a few of the newer spyware programs and managed to remove my SOB client. these were either spysweep or scan spyware.

I dont think i can rescue anything (K or N numbers) and even just to get it running again i had to re-install.
under c: i have no SB folder so i take it i just lost my 70% competed test, is there ANYTHING i can do :?: :-( :?: or i will have a massive minus there soon. i will run RC5 on here for a bit but any comments are welcome to get back the lost numbers, i do know what they were if that helps :-(

I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. I released the work units and didn't suffer a hit of any sort.

Have you tried the Registry edit technique to search for your lost k / n pair?
Confirm the SOB directory has been wiped - SOB is usually installed in C:\Program Files\SB
Follow the instructions posted by vjs in the Official SOB forum under Lost Proth Test (http://www.free-dc.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7434)

vaughan that is what i meant there is no SB directory. i have recovered them before but only when i have the corresponding files in that directory, if the files are gone then there is no record of them and i can't restore to something that isnt there.

if you're using NTFS you might still be able to recover the files, i have a tool called R-Studio NTFS recover that i used when i killed my NTFS partition by installing grub into the header of it :D
if you can't find it, PM me :)

Sob has a little windows where we can see what happens. On this window if you click on config you can chose priority settings. Standard is IDLE. I have klick on NORMAL. What is the best settings? and, nou I is a member in AMD Users :)

Doesn't make a huge difference, IDLE is the setting I use as the others tend to make my PC less responsive.

yep depends how you are using your machine. It just affects the way the CPU cycles are divided up, if idle then as anything else requests the CPU it will allow that priority. Low is similar but takes more and normal gives it the same priority as most other tasks. THis can also be changed in task manager, under processes right click and you can manually change anythings priority settings.

Overnight i tend to leave mine on normal so SOB can take all the CPU however now i put it back to low while i am using the machine.
