Phillipines Quake

This is a shout out to our members, like Dr Iggy/Borfil, in the Phillipines.
They got 'all shook up' yesterday and there was quite a bit of damage

I concur I hope everyone made it out alive and well, we would miss our classic team mates!

That quake hit wife's village of Anti Polo on Negros, but nobody was hurt. She was actually on the phone to her niece when it struck.

Holy god... that must have been a dreadful experience to your wife Ototero, I can only imagine how she must have felt helpless on the phone with your niece scared during the earthquake. My thoughts and prayers are with your families and all of those affected by this catastrophe.

Living far away from the family has severe drawbacks, I don't know what would I do if I heard news that something had happened back in Portugal right now... I would be in panic mode at the very least.

Actually she was quite calm about it. Pragmatic lot, they are.
Once someone says they are ok, there's no more thinking about it.

There sure seems to be an upswing in the number of quakes around the Pacific Rim the past year or so. I've spent quite a bit of time in the P.I. as well as living in Japan for eight years. Had quakes all the time in Japan. I lived not far from where the big quake hit that damaged the nuke plants. Was really sad to watch that stuff evolving on TV. As for the P.I., there is so much rain there that it really adds a big level of concern about mud slides in any quake. It's bad enough with the mud slides without the quakes.... I hope that the team members and their friends and families are okay.
