Boinc version

With predictor now having some work, i thought i would try BOINC overnight to see how it runs. i have CP there so i wont run out of work ;).

what is the best version to be running, right now i have 4.13. i am happy with this but is there anythign newer ??? (that is stable without criticle flaws)

4.54, I think, is the latest. Been using it for a while, nothing bad happened to me.

i might upgrade to the newer one then. they bring out a new version too often, it must be about 1 a month :?:

It includes a very improtant bug fix for those running multiple projects.

The older versions had a problem when more than one project wanted to upload the finished WUs back to the host and could get tangled sending the wrong WU to the wrong host.

It is an important bug fix.

NOTE that some projects don't always run on the same BOINC version as others, although it does not appear to take long for them to catch up.

Look in the Dev. Section. The latest there is 4.59.

Quite a differance in the GUI in 4.59. Haven't seen much else in performance.

Installing now, looks more flexible on how to install. Single-User, Shared and Service.

Now able to suspend or abort WUs. So far, I like this new GUI. :)

HURM....couldn't get it to install as service.
