Will.i.am @iamwill and Professor Myles Allen of CPDN meet in Oxford to discuss Weatherathome and Intel's Progress thru Processors.
The pop star Will.i.am visited CPDN in Oxford on Monday 21 May 2012.
Will came to Oxford to promote Intel's Progress thru Processors (http://www.intel.com/techwonders/progress-thru-processors.htm) initiative, which is looking to help CPDN's Weatherathome (http://climateprediction.net/weatherathome) project. Will and Professor Myles Allen, head of CPDN, discussed the way computers across the world are being used for public good, enabling people to donate their computer’s power when it is idle to help science researchers for anything from predicting climate change to curing cancer.
Weatherathome (http://climateprediction.net/weatherathome) seeks to understand how climate change may be producing damaging – or beneficial – weather events affecting people’s lives in specific regions of the world.
