And yet still he sets his sights higher.

Thanks guys. It is a combined effort with Ramjet and we have been at WCG for a long time. I believe I started with my 1.2 athlon and maybe k6 2 500. The GPU effort has really helped the points add up. I think we may even be moving the team up a few notches with the GPU project.

Definitely.
The team is about to move up a fifth rank in just a month.

And indeed no small part of this effort is due to the GPU application

ohhh, so this project highly prefers AMD GPUs?

also grats, Jason1478963 :D

WCG has many projects.
Currently only one WCG project, HCC / Help Conquer Cancer, supports GPGPU.
Jason and Ramjet have quite a few of CPU's doing other WCG projects in addition to HCC.

I'm doing quite well with only 3 AMD GPUs on HCC. Just a month ago I was rank 75 in the team.
The WCG GPU points are lower than other GPU projects but that's not the point, HCC is a high importance project for general good.

Us as team climbing five places in WCG has everything to do with the WCG HCC GPU application!
If you follow the WCG stats you will see that our total running time position remains the same, but our biggest progress has been made in the number of returned results. Formerly our team scores (running time, score and returned results) all were around the 51-53th place, now we are 51-47-42.
The HCC WUs may not give much credits, the sheer number of them works very well. Doing only CPU projects, the points formerly were my best score, followed by returned results.
Now it is the other way around, almost 1 million of my credits is from the 18.200+ HCC WUs I have processed since the introduction of the HCC application.

Thanks again guys:) Also a congrats to the others moving up in the ranks at WCG with their GPUs as it does take some tweaking to get good numbers out of these cards. It is nice to see a bit of WCG talk on the forum and a bit more interest in it even though its not best for points. HCC is a good project to be able to throw some GPUs on and see the results pile up. I was amazed to see how fast the days of expected completion time of the current work dropped. I believe with CPU only had expected completion of 700+ days and saw this drop to 100 days rather quickly. I am hoping they keep adding work as Sekerobs chart (http://s137.beta.photobucket.com/user/Sekerob/media/WCGYearsPi1Project.png.html) shows we currently have an average of 74 days HCC left. I think people are still adding cards to this project as well. I believe guys are getting over a 100k a day on the 7970s when setup to run multiple work units. WCG having their first project with GPU work under their belt it may help bring other great projects to the GPUs.
