As Lagu is fond of saying, "Once and AMD User, always an AMD User"
From time to time some of our prominent crunchers are pulled away with the changes that life brings all of us eventually.
So we are stoked that when Aqua decided to start crunching again, he remembered us and joined Jason & myself in our IRC chat room.

Although the set of rigs is somewhat smaller, you'll see Aqua is now among our top contributors to WCG and is about to start storming through the top 100 team ranks.
So don't be surprise when you get stomped.

Welcome back Team_Aqua! :hello: Terrific to see you again.

These days you can go around so many different things in so many projects... there are challenges, there are badges, there are prime numbers, there's Bok's "badges" (can't remember the original name) for obtaining 100K, 250K, 500K, 1M, etc on every project...

I would say just take a look around, browse the options, and crunch for what you feel you like the most. :)

Welcome back AQUAJOE. If you want to crunch for BOINC points "cobblestones" I think is the official name, run the GPU projects especially Distributed Rainbow Tables. The points there are very high. Otherwise GPU Grid is good for NVidia but often runs out of work - stupid Admins. For AMD GPUs you can try MilkyWay.

For CPU crunching good points are to be found in SubsetSumAThome and Primaboinca. NumberFieldsAThome is pretty steady too. Ones to avoid like the plague are RNA which has massively long tasks that often fizzle and die after a week of crunching and then you get zero points; similarly Dirk's hometown favorite Leiden Classical is very lean with the points; also SATatHome, Ibercivis and CASatHome are low points issuers. Sometimes I throw some machines on these just for the devilment of trying to eek out some ranks but they are not very rewarding.

Currently I'm in a gauntlet on SubsetSum trying to take my #2 slot back but my nemesis, tempo, is out crunching me twofold /EDIT: make that three or more fold !!!. I'd say "bring on Haswell" but my fellow AMD Users might snap at me :)

Welcome Back AquaJoe so nice to see you posting, I stumbled when I saw the message this morning. Wow, It is not a dream your back. Good to see you as I have been away myself working on that eternal project it seems. There is alight at the end of the tunnel and I know I can reach it. I am still running small projects and dishing out cobblestones just with no GPU to mention working at this time. Some day, Welcome Back AquaJoe :blob3:

Hi Team_Aqua!
Did I hear you can show off your mega-milestones here?
Not kicking quite that much ass, but doing pretty good as well:

Any project have a good screen saver with cool graphics?

I am partial to viewing the Einstein graphic once in a while. You can spin the sphere.
I very rarely run the screensaver, if only to see what it looks like once.

Otherwise the Rosetta, CPDN and SETI screensavers are quite popular.

tutta55 captured a few a while ago - yikes! 2006. y mental calander needs an update.

Here's some non-BOINC screen saver fun with some moderate usefullness.

Does anybody still use screensavers? It looks like your on your way to 2nd place at WCG as long as the work holds out.
