I have two PC,s (one is running D2OL) and is thinking to run the other PC also on D2OL on the same node. How can i do it?

I should be wery grateful for an answer.

you can't do it with the same node, but you can have multiple computers under 1 account.
Thats why some people have many nodes [ http://app.d2ol.com/memberServices/teamProfile.jsp?id=528 ].

Just install it on the new machine and enter the details lagu and your password at a certain point rather than creating a new account.

You can run all your machines with the same node ID. Just use the same node.prp (C:\...\SengentD2OL\D2OL\res) file in all your machines.

Cheers,

Carlos

Thanks a lot for the tip! Yesterday evening I downloaded 2DOL to my old Athlon (TM) 1001 Ghz, 640 MB RAM (133 Mhz) and loaded 2000 WU;s to this rig from D2OL and It should take I think 2,5 weeks to chrunch all WU;s who is wery heawy to work for this computer compared with my A 64. I hawe also 2 different nodes under same username. I was thinking to run another project with my A64 3000+ (Sempron), 2244 Mhz, 1 GB RAM, ADSL 2 MB (1,9 MB upload) broadband but is awaiting some tip from user of this forum. Of course I vill run a project to help AMD-users where they are.
My third PC is an Intel Pentium II, 233 Mhz, 128 MB RAM (100 Mhz). This rig is not active but ready for run if need. I hawe only one problem: no Lan or network.

That's not a problem.
AMD64 - internet access - D2OL1 and D2OL2
Pentium II - no internet access - D2OL2

Make a second installation in your AMD64 machine. Pay attention that all shortcuts are now linked to your second installation so I suggest you make a manual shortcut to your primary D2OL.exe at startup. You don't want to crunch twice!

Download 2000 wu's then copy the entire D2OL2 folder to your Pentium machine. Crunch everything and to upload your work just copy only the RES folder that it is in your Pentium to your AMD64 (second installation), overwrite the RES folder and send your results. Cache again 2000 wu's. Copy it again and overwrite the RES folder in your Pentium. And so on....

Cheers,

Carlos

try this first though when you have done say 50 you dont want to screw it up with 2,000 and lose a few weeks work in the process.

I hawe already 2DOL on my A 64 but has done all work and get it back till the server without load any WU;s. What I was thinking about is to try chrunching another project by my A 64 to help AMD-users chrunch to hold or better jump up from x place to xx place.

Lagu - crunch what you like. Do you have a preference for Medical type projects or maybe Mathematics or Science? If Medical you might like to try Folding at Home for your A64. Scientific - maybe try DPAD / Muon.

I have get Seventeen or Bust a chance. I have download a SSE2 compatible exe-file. 17 blocks is done after 52,26 min. (3,07 min/block) Vill see how long time i takes to run it at 100%.

yep do whatever,

SOB doesnt run that great on AMD's compared to intels but it is simple and easy to run.

Make sure you use version 2.3.0 because the previous version 2.2 makes mathematical errrors in some peculiar circumstances so the results from it are useless to the project.

Lagu did you make sure you are running for our team: AMD Users is team number 83

Edit: You're on the Official stats page, well done.

excellent Lagu.

there is this stats page which is pretty good http://marcc.no-ip.org/SoB/Team.php?Team_ID=83 gives you a few other statistics as well as an hourly rate.

I have version 2.3.0 wisch is not SSE-compatible. When i saw this version on SOB was it one non-SSE compatible software. I think I saw wrong.
The first version I download was not as fast as 2.3.0. It must mean that the software with SSE-functions not will work. Perhaps with Win 64. I´m in number 83 with pleasant company of other from this forum. :D

the stats on that site are updated every hour at the 30 minute mark (may be slightly different for you being in a different time zone)
-- if you click your name you can see your past 24hours production and a breakdown of your score each hour.

Right now my AMD is running 2DOL wery slowly. On two weeks only 746 wu;s are done. I think this processor has to little speed. :?:

My Intel is sleeping but ready to go. I show you all this info because you perhaps can tell me what my Intel can run. It seems it has a matematic processor for multiple works or is I wrong? But it is perhaps better this rig is running one instans? I hawe earlier run Seti a and it took a little over 8 times to chrunch. (only one WU not two)

It think it is good if this PC can have say 500 WU;s on the queque. I hawe no broadband to this but I hawe a 256 MB USB memory. Can it be to any help?

My Athlon 64 is now running SOB, but I is not harmonic with this loooooooong running WU:s. I think our group not has any to win when I use my computer in SOB. It has now been running in 309,04,50 times and on its way to fullfill a third tests. (72,5% done) Better to hawe to chrunch where ewery task take ca. 10 min as in 2DOL.

I wisch to support our team :D
Thanks for all comments.

with the SOB though the times are longer the rewards are greater. Also we have some rivalry and a position to defend whereas in D2ol we are quite far from gaining ranks.

if you look for some older posts about D2ol you will find informaiton on copying and pasting workunits, crunching them separatley and then copy them back to send. I will post a link to these for you at some point unless others beat me to it. Alternatley move the network/internet cable briefly while you are uploading and downloading and send the results in a large block of 500.

Another similar project you may fancy for the pent. is DNET (RC5 and OGR). It is fairly simple to run and can work again with no net connection as long as it has enough work units to crunch. I wold say possible try this on your 64 first and if its stable overnight then put it on the pentium - the added problem of no net connection would make it slightly more complicated.

i would like to suggest find a drug for the thrid machine. we are holding at postion 42 but we could take a few if we can increase production. i really enjoy this program but you can make up your own mind.
