I would really like it if this was not a rumor... :icon_mrgreen:

Just in time for Haswell.

Just in time for Haswell Albeit that Gladiator is a one-off and seems to compete with i7, while Haswell is an architecture, from at least i5 to i7.
I'd rather have a complete line-up of Steamrollers pretty soon, and Excavators just after Haswell.

It's not a rumor (http://www.tomshardware.com/news/FX-9000-Piledriver-FX-8770-Vishera,22873.html)
And no need to install heating in the computer room either: a 220 Watt TDP!
(More or less the same power draw as when you overclock a Piledriver to 5 Ghz yourself, but now under warrantee)
Interesting cooler solutions on the horizon.....

That sure would be a pretty interesting purchase.

Geez... 220W TDP? They could make space heaters out of those CPUs for those cold winter nights. :icon_lol:

It seems it would do well providing heat for domestic hot water use.

The CPUs in question are to be delivered to OEMs only, so we're not able to heat our jacuzzis with them.
Still mighty interested how the OEMs are going to keep the heat/noise down...
Even a triple 140 mm fan Noctua or a Corsair H100i might have trouble to keep both at an acceptable level
