30 April: Queen's day today in the Netherlands, but before I go to the free market
and score some 2nd hand computer junk, I'd like to bring you this:

May 1 to May 8 - The May 2012 SIMAP scramble
Team BOINCstats have their monthly simap challenge. I'll try to hit the 500,000 barrier before Bender10 does,
but I may have to build another computer for that purpose, he passed me on a 15k/day rate and is now even threatning Tamaster! What's the best CPU for Simap? Looks like I need a 64-core Opteron 6282 SE server to catch up with Bender10! Today I reached the 500k mark, but it was stamped "Bender10 was here" and there were robot footprints up till the horizon...
We've changed positions with BOINC@Poland ten times, and when they passed us the last time they were soon followed by University of Miami, so we ended up as #7.
Needless to say Bender10 was our most succesful member, ending up as #20. He was followed by NeoGen who's new hardware brought him at #34 and B Johansson was our third member, ending at #51. Other members to finish in the top-100 were: VALDIS (#57), Dirk Broer (#75) and Vaughan (#82). No members on the #101-#200 page, so next members to be found were at #242 smok88 and Freddie at #296.
Lazykiller ended as #301, Trent as #320, Nicola as #362 and Ken429H as #374.
On the last page we find Dr Iggy (#401), Moops (#404), Mike (#405) and Bobcat13 (#407) ending very close to each other and junior at #433 closed our rankings.

May 1 to May 8 - WorldCommunity Rush
Seti@Netherlands has organised a World Community Grid challenge in the exact same time frame as BOINCstats have their Simap challenge.
Some coordination, especially when you realize that both organisers are located in the Netherlands...
Jason1478963 ensured the overall #4 position we reached, being good for 50% of the total team-score.
As usual he ended up as #1 in a WCG challenge, painting his badges a yet deeper tone of azure. But there were more members among the top-100: mmstick (#15), Chase Wright (#28), jvierra (#35), visschman (#37), meshmar (#60), caseyd11 (#71) and Prophet194 (#79). Just out of the top-100, but in the top-200 I found Chris 1968 (#104), jimmyhua73 (#115), Bender10 (#139), Dirk Broer (#148), AceHunter (#160), klemz (#164), xwingace (#165) and Tamaster (#199). In total there were some 70 members active during this challenge that attracted a grand total of 1487 participants, generating 15 pages of results, so I will not dig to find you all if you will pardon me. And for those who had not enough: you can continue on the 10th in the Pentathlon with WCG, for those badges you just missed, like me.

    May 5 to May 18 - 3rd BOINC Pentathlon
Seti.Germany has the yearly Pentathlon, the only challenge with the name of an AMD CPU hidden in it.
We start with Rosetta from May 5 to May 10, so start crunching!
Right now Rosetta has ended. Our score can be seen here, we ended at place #23.
From May 7 till May 12 you could set your GPUs at work on Collatz, where we were doing a better job the first day, but where we dropped from 16 till 20....
From May 10 till May 15 you can crank up your WCG scores yet again. This might be the chance for us to advance in the ranks, we're doing quite well with WCG. This is mainly thanks to Jason, see the WorldCommunity Rush rankings. Jason alone does more than the rest of the team together it seems (really: FreeDC says Jason does 50.83% of the team score by himself!). But he needs help right now as we dropped to the 18th place with one day to go!
Next projects will be Yoyo (14-19 May) and QMC (also 14-19 May)
    BOINC Pentathlon > General
    BOINC Pentathlon Stats
    Team-Stats

May 11 to May 18 - May Bernoulli Challenge
The Fullerton Physics Department of the California State University has issued a challenege for NFS@Home, which, I hasten to say, is *NOT* the same as Number Fields.
NFS@Home is a research project that uses Internet-connected computers to do the lattice sieving step in the Number Field Sieve factorization of large integers. If you have any cores free during the Pentathlon, feel free to join, we are entered!
