I know a lot of you asked for more member ranks.
I need creative suggestions for ranks.
Please post the rank and the number of posts necessary to get that rank.
I will use them as a guideline as I create more ranks.
Thanks, Jeff

How about, if I have the master poster rank. And everyone below me has a rank of wanna be Beerknurd.
It would stay that way until they pass me.
Once somebody passed me, then mine would change back to the wanna be phrase.
I think that's a great idea
I guess nobody like that idea...
from what i remember before:
post master
post lord
post god
I was one of the people who asked about a new ranking system, and I'll think of one to propose soon. But right now I would give Ototero the special rank of Statsman. :)
Why :?:
Am I old
;) :D
Why Post God?
We have only one God and I think we not will take the name of God in vain :!:
Why not:
Post Ace
Post King
Post Draughts
Post Jack or Knave
I think it is a little unnecessary. The question is: Should you chrunch more if you got the name "Title" or post more?
Lagu ;)
Good point Lagu. We should reward crunching rather than posting. Some thinking is required as to how to best achieve this.
That will probably be quite hard to achieve (if not impossible)... unless spjeff could connect the member rankings to Ototero's stats somehow...
I have an idea...
can you insert a name set based on the post rate rather than the total posts.
that way your member category may go up and down over time.
you could even shorten the time period for the rate calculation so that it is more current, say last 30 or 60 or 90 days, up to you based on the results you find.
you'd have to gather some results of the figure to apply the range limits for the category names:
- press conference star
talk-back host
chatter box
jabberooo
chin wagger
of course the categories are subjective but the calculation should give you just enough of a PHP challenge to make it interesting.
Also, you have the option of choosing the sweet-spot - desired rate of posts.
ie If you like us to contribute regularly but not too much that we hog the pages, then you could apply "king of the contribution" LOL (ie the target name) to a high but not excessive rate of posts.
I wonder how much we all posted in the last 30 days... better make that 90 days.
It would be nice to be able to link to our DC stats, but atm I think that is a stretch. Definitely worth thinking about, tho.
