The Uptime Project
Here's a little something for us to have fun with. :D
http://en.uptime-project.net/
This is a kind of project that counts for how long you can keep your computer(s) on. Naturally, in this kind of game we stand little chance against webservers, but I bet this will be a nice competition between ourselves here! :P
You just have to register on the site, download the client, start and set the settings and let it connect to the net. It will quietly stay in the system tray area.
ATTENTION: Each machine you install the client on needs a different registration on the site. People with computer farms will curse this project!
Then you can see for how long your machine has been on, and compare it with others. Our Team is there too! (Actually they call it a league). Look at our first members machines coming in! :D

(Mine has the current record... 3 days and 19 hours and still running... amazing for a machine with Windows installed!)
And you can also get cool images for use in sigs on forums...

So give it a try! Let's see who can keep a machine on for the longest time!!
-
The only time I reboot mine are when an update requires it. Maybe my home built machines are just more reliable than the store bought. LOL

I postpone updates for as long as I can. :P
Only when windows is getting sluggish, and the mem usage is beyond the physical memory (due to some heavy mem leaks I suppose), is when I give rest to the machine. I make the updates and reboot.
-
I've just stuck my laptop on it.

I'm wondering... how will the people with more than one machine do? In terms of the naming I mean... since we're using our nicknames for our machines, maybe to identify more than one machines you would use a number in front of the machine? (EDIT: if you get more than one machine in the project, don't forget to create a new login for it)
And by the way... we are a BIG league now! :D Teams with more than 5 people (machines) active are automatically promoted to the big leagues list. The rest are just normal leagues... :P

I would say:
ototero_laptop
ototero_main
ototero_other
Then I could alway parse using the correct name.
Btw, you can change you handle after you've registered. I changed ototero to ototero_laptop.
Don't forget to change your client side as well.
-
only ototero-laptop is appearing :S do you not need to make each node/instance a member of AMD Users?
-
That one I didn't know... but then again I only have one machine so for now I don't have to worry.
By the way... you're not thinking of adding this to the stats... are you :?:

They were examples Empty :P
EDIT
I thought I'd get the rules straight before you asked.
Have you seen the leaders uptime, > 5 years
