a little question
Well I've got a question for you guys. At my place we have an old computer (a 500 MHz AMD) and its impossible to connect it to the internet. I would like to run BOINC on it though, but i dont know if its possible to transfer wu's to it by using a memstick or something. do you guys have an idea on how to do this?

BOINC can run straight off a memory stick.
Download the data on an internet one. Install to the USB drive on the non internet machine. Not as a service! You'll have to start it when the USB drive is in...keep it the same USB port if you can.
Just run from USB stick and then when finished change to the other PC and run it there.
Your best though is another project.
Folding@Home can sneakernet

Or Distributed.net works fine as does the maths projects.
Check out PSP Sieving. The offline PC wont need internet. You can just transfer a text file via USB key. Check it out.

same goes for Riesel and PSP (both sieve and LLR) and DPAD(Muon1)
I can't remember the details, but somewhere there's instructions for doing this with D2OL and TSC as well.
