Hello fellow AMDers!
Yesterday I was approved to order 2x Dell R715's!
Each server will have 2x AMD Opteron 6344 12 core CPUs with 64GB 1600MHz RAM and 3x 600GB 10k SAS drives :icon_mrgreen:
I am sure that before I get these loaded up with VMware, I should probably do some good testing with them first, right? :icon_wink:

lol, well they are supposed to be here today according to the tracking number!
I wish I could have gone with the 16 cores, but seeing as I am replacing a single VM host with dual Quads, the dual 12-cores should be awesome!

ok, VMware install, 1 test server setup on each - 1 running 24 cores the other 8 (so I can do other testing with this server lol)
just attached to BOINC and POEM@HOME - let's see what happens! :)

You will run the server dry at this pace, that's what will happen!
Perhaps you can attach LHC-Test4Theory and PrimeGrid afterwards (being the present team and project challenges)
Got em running Primegrid now - just a few cores each though.
Doing alright. All cores active and you'd be heading for the top ten!
Imagine the performance when the two 12-cores dualies would be two 16-cores quaddies......
