Gee I get to hit a milestone tonight. That don't seem like a big thing but I haven't hit one yet this year! The last one was 10,000 and that's been a while.
OK I am officially stumped... I figured out that a hung process was using half my resources, so I should be getting about a 40 point jump or so. I will probably produce around 200 per day.
But now I can't figure out why it is only detecting a 1577 MHz processor. It says that the processor is an X2 4200+ but the speed is all wrong. I doubt this makes any difference, but I wonder why it's wrong. I have tried deleting the config file and restarting everything. I even tried installing a new copy in another folder, but it still says 1577 MHz.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this??? Does this update as you go along??

Hey Beerknurd,
Thanks for being here buddy. I'm with Lagu, every point counts on this one. But, The whole "working for the collective" has me worried about who Lagu REALLY is...are we being assimilated....
Anyway, I haven't had a problem (as you see) with the Pi recognizing my X2's. That is too strange. Did you try uninstall, reboot, reinstall??? And yes, my Intel's suck on this Pi crunching. I'm gonna order another X2 parts kit today. Most likely an am2 x2 4800.
Sweet! are you ordering from newegg? do we get to see all the components you are going to use? lol
I was just noticing that the AM2 x2 4800+ which runs at 2.5ghz is just $15 less than the AMD x2 5200+ which is 2.6 ... not a whole lot more, but the 5200+ has 2x1mb L2 cache instead of 2x512k. however the 4800+ is built with 65nm tech, and the 5200+ is 90nm...
Bender don't order the 4800+!!! Go for the 5200+. I have 4 of the 48's and I have a heck of a time keeping them cool. The only one I use for crunching I have a $130 cooler on and still can't run it consistantly past 2.8. The other 3 my wife got me for xmas and I ended up putting them in her and the kids machines. They are a bear to cool at 100%. With the 5200 even if you can't oc it the speed is there. And you should be able to bump it 10%.
The 65w 4800+ does not run cool?? I didn't see that anywhere when I was looking at the reviews. But, I can't look everywhere, AlGore made the Internet TOO BIG!!.
That was why I was going with the 4800, low pwr and cool... Ooops, I ordered it this morning in the dark when I got to werk....
I went with the 4800(65w) for a low pwr setup because this was going in a BOINCpe box, no HD, just a cdrom. I liked the 5200 for the L2, but wanted the box to be easy to cool. Right now I am running x2 4200's with the oem cooler. No oc on those yet...
Crap on a STICK. I hope you are wrong.
Opps the 65w should be ok the ones I have are the 939 socket 85w (I think).
