I run my Turion laptop with Dnet. It sits on 2 fan Antec cooler and runs just under 60C which I think is ok.
I have here running a Turion64 X2 TL-58 at 51°C/54°C (67°C core) at 20°C outside. But it is running GIMPS it could be a bit hotter than on most BOINC-projects.
Update on my temperature on my laptop using CoreTemp. Forgot to say, but the Turion X2 Ultra is the ZM-82 @ 2.20GHz.
Idle: ~63 degrees Celsius
Running Primegrid on both cores with BOINC set to "Use at most 30% CPU time.": ~74 degrees Celsius
Fan is a bit on the loud side. Don't know the exactly how fast it's going, anyone know a program to measure the %? HWMonitor doesn't seem to detect it on my laptop.
Stick some compressed air up it, blows loads of crap out, runs so much cooler after.
I believe compressed air is not recommended in my manual.... as my fan died shortly after I tried that. It wasn't much fun changing the fan either. lots of small parts and screws, but HP had a great manual on how to get it done.
Maybe Speedfan? Not sure if it works with your laptop.Quote:
