wow... I'm outmatched. :)
Just 4 dual-cores in the race:
2500MHz
2640MHz
2700MHz
3000MHz
------
10840MHz x 2 cores each = 21680MHz = 21.68GHz
I've got a couple single cores that are just crunching what they always crunch. :)

Guess what I have!
A lowly Athlon XP 1700+ @ 1.4GHz! :D
W00t. I'm a post whore now!
:wav:
I'm here! And I've done the updates. It was sometime around 0:30 here. A bit later than it should, but it was done. :)
I forgot to consider Murphy's law when planning the contest, so now all kinds of unplanned things are happening around me...
My ISP is having quite a load of problems... my internet connection is unstable, and the phone line (which is also provided by them) is down, since the weekend.
Also got a few things delayed here that I gotta catchup, and one mean cold (or flew?) that even got me a bit lightheaded yesterday.
I'm hoping to have all these little things straightened out by the end of the week, so that I can dedicate myself to the contest, particularly in finishing the updating/exporting routines (It's still half manual), and improving the contest pages.
Do keep on racing guys. And remember that I'm always watching. (at least once a day ;))
Hi
There is one more Power Machintoch, Power Mac 11.2, Darvin 8.6.0
This guy has 4 CPU´s. Can a Mac have 4 cpu´s or is it something wrong?
Check ou this page: http://boinc.gorlaeus.net/workunit.php?wuid=274340
There has already 3 confirmed the same WU, one WU has got an error (Keithw1975´s) and a new WU is in progress. Total 5 work units of an equal WU.
I though it should be done when 3 had confirmed that WU.
Keithw1975: Check out this link and look after any wrong as has with your Mac to do. You got zero points for it.

Hi
To as use a MAC. Check out this tread:http:

You must have GLUT otherwice your WU fail.
Lagu ;)
Hi
I don´t know what I will imagine, but MAC computers is only a half promille of all computers in Leiden. 1 have disappeared, 2 was last in contact with the server April 28 and they as is there is not easy to calculate out.
There is a risk you as have a Mac never will have our work unit werifyed. But will you take the chance so Ok for me.
Lagu
Ok guys. Can you explain something to me? Why is it that I have had 6 AMDs on Leiden yet my RAC is less than Black and AMD who are only crunching with 2 machines?
Keith
The RAC is a measure of activity, that is a bit weird, because for as long as you keep crunching, even if always at the same speed the RAC will always increase and increase up to the infinite.
JL and Blackheat are in the project for longer than you, so they have amassed a slightly bigger RAC than you already. But since you're out-producing them your RAC will grow faster than theirs, so soon you'll catch up with them. :)
And not just in RAC, but in total credits too. ;)
Keith75
RAC isn´t so important because we use "Total points" in our Monthly news and now in the race. RAC can go up and down as you sure have notised. If you not crunch a project for a while your RAC can be lesser. That happen me in a project and I got confused.
Lagu :)
Another strange thing is that when I tried putting a Mac on Leiden it downloaded some results then instantly reported a client error. Never was able to get it to do any work.
Keith
Keith75
Please read my messages followed with links on page 3.
Lagu ;)
Thanks Lagu. Good info.
Yes the G5s have 2xdual core CPUs for a total of four. Each runs at 2.5 GHz. :)
Keith
Hi keith75
This sounds great. It is as an AMD dual core or better?
Lagu :D
Keith7h
Ask Blackheath if you not know how to do. He have also an Power Mac Darvin.
Lagu :)
They use the G5 Power chip from IBM. It is very similar to AMD since IBM had a part in developing AMDs chips. They will soon be replacing them with dual core Intel chips though which I doubt will perform as well. The G5 machines had a separate bus for each CPU and it runs at 1.25 GHz. Maybe not as good as AMDs HTT but not bad either. Apple always caught alot of bad press for running at a lower clock speed than Intel but the last few years they have been running at the high clock speeds with 4 cores yet no one seemed to care. I can't believe they chose to change to Intel. Why not AMD???
Keith
I must be jinxed! :shock:Quote:

The steps that were taken to get a decent server up and running seem to be paying off. Because of this the stats can be made public, however account creation has been turned off until the final server has been setup. More info will follow on that pretty soon, so be patient users, be patient... Apart from that, steps have also been undertaken to allow for other scientific applications of the Leiden Institute of Chemistry to run on this BOINC grid. These apps will probably not be publicly available for every one. Soon some extra information on those applications will be made available too. Obviously the Classical application will remain public, updated and accessible for all users!
Just yesterday I said that all kinds of unpredicted things are happening around me since I had the idea of the contest.
Ok guys... Since this is against the three ground rules I myself set up in the beggining, so I have to ask you all...
Should we continue or abort the Leiden race?
I would love to continue, but as organizer my vote cannot count. It's the participants who must decide.
Why should it change anything?
There might be people who want to join the project and compete too... and could think it's not fair. For example, spjeff69 joined yesterday. (He was the last to join us before they shut down account creation)
NeoGen
There is peoples as is crunching the same wu as we hawe running. I think we will have patience but how about the delay of points?
I think there is at least 600 active peoples as can crunch. What we are doing now is to other peoples and teams advantage.
Go for it as you have planned. :!:
Lagu :)
Hi
I can´t see Spjeff69 in leiden. There is a page for next 20 but it is empty. Have he not joined us or was he too late out?
Lagu :-(
Keith, you have 109 work units and nearly all is done and have erroed out. Sad can I say. There we lose many points. :!:Quote:

Great works from eweryone involved. Lets see where we are Friday 23.59.
Lagu :D
And also... our pharmers are starting to appear on the world top-20 (total credit) of participants! Congrats mitro! :D
My work machine and my 2nd AMD machine is now working on Leiden :D
Normally i don't stress my other machine with DC projects due to it being insulated with sound proofing (was going to be a HTPC originally) so you can imagine it will get slightly hotter than the others (Plus i have bad experiences with DC'ing on single cores that killed a motherboard)
I wonder what this 3rd day will be like. I have almost 80 WUs pending. This projects not fair! :-(
I have alot pending as well, probably about 60-80 myself across the 3 machines.
I checked my pending for the heck of it and I have 192 waiting for another machines results?! This is crazy, i'll still be getting credits this weekend even after I suspend the project
Guys
On Friday it is the last day for our massive pressure in Leiden Classical. I´m thinking we will lose ranks if no one support what we have caused.
How about running this project once a week for example during the night from when you go to bed to you will go to your work?
I´m sure if we not support it we soon have "worked" in vain.
What are you guys option?
Lagu :D ;)
If you also got AthlonXP's send your workunits to me. ;) I'll recrunch them quickly and get us both credits.
Electabots
I´ve ponder if we should extend the time to Sunday 23.59. It should be fair when we are thinking of the delay. I feels wrong ehen we stop crunch and the points is coming after us.
Tell your option and we will wait for Neogens reaction. A problem if it is a problem is Neogens stats table as only is working from Monday to Friday.
Lagu ;)
That would not be a problem. ;)
If necessary I would even add up the values by hand. :P
Contest stats were updated already. :)
Amazing how the 600 credits/day line has been working so well. I was expecting some fluctuation, with people jumping from table to table, but it didn't happen.
Mitro still in the lead on the pharmers league, with almost an extra lap (twice the credits) against the second ranked Vaughan. :P
And Lagu showing off  on the regulars league with also a nice advantage against Electabots.
Nooo.. I'm falling behind. :P Damn everybody for the lack of Athlon XP's. :P We have me and NeoGen w/ a Athlon XP. Thats it? All the other people in the project just don't care about anything.....
I don't mind it being extended to sunday, but i'll have to spend a little time to prepare for the next project.
I'm not sure if i'm going to continue this project after this week, don't really like the way it works :?
I'll do whatever the Team decides... but do decide it until Friday, ok? :P
In my oppinion I think it won't change much, there should be minimal to no rank changes from Friday to Sunday.
Not true gamer007, I have 6 Athlon XPs running.Quote:

I'll go with vaughan. During the weekend, hopefully we can get as much WUs credited for the project while preparing to Predictor@Home.
NeoGen
I don´t know how or wisch system you use when you collect how many points we will have but I had submitted 310 WU´s before 23.59 and yesterday i submitted 268 Wu´s. Yet I have a lower points than Tuesday
All this is taken from the "Messages" of the Boinc Managers.
Are you collecting points from Leidens stats page and from earned pending credits?
It is little unclear how this point sistem works.
Lagu :)
I got about 200 WU's pending credit :\
They're not very fast are they?
I only count people's credits from our Team's page. Pending workunits most of the times don't get the credits they claim, sometimes is more, others times is less...
