Sounds like a failure of a complete RAID array

Bok is in Minneapolis MN today, returning via airplane to his home state so by 6 or 6:30 PM EST tonight the whole system should be up and running maybe, really a maybe if he has not got a quick fix.
bok's stats seem to be having more outages this last few weeks. They're generally very reliable. I wonder if it is a hardware issue?
bok's stats have gone off-line again
And the site is down again.
LHC@Home Dev and Albert@Home missing from Bok's stats at the moment
Edit: all is restored now, but what will the future bring when a really project stops?
Drat the stat's down again.
I could see a correlation indeed... unlike businesses that work monday-friday 8am-5pm, distributed computing is a hobby, which means it would have it's higher peaks after business hours and on weekends, as people are not usually checking their stats and doing things on boinc during the week while at work.
So the after hours and weekends are probably when all DC and related websites get their highest traffic and amount of requests, which means the stress factor for the hardware components increases greatly and any possible bad hardware will be at a risk of failure.
About the DDOS attacks I don't know, I haven't read about that one, but I'd conjecture that hackers also have day jobs so they mostly attack after hours and weekends too :icon_lol:
