I can disable everyone's sigs.
Just has been very good about anything we have ask for. I think that we could give him a day or so. This is just one more thing that no one would have forseen and I have no reason to think he would be anything but helpful. If you do it Jeff would it be just Pi Segment or all sigs?
It still took me 10 seconds to load the page... All the other pages I visit are alot faster...:(
It took me 20-25 seconds open our the page where we write or messages. Also when editing our pages takes time and yet I have 8 MB broadband. I will restart mu modem and router and see if there will be any difference.:icon_mad:
In have use Telias Supportassistent (My ISP) and restore my Modem settings and restarted my Router. Then I restarted the computer and now the problem seems be solved. It is a lot faster now.:)
I have sent Ping to our server and here is the result:
Sending signals to amdusers.com with 9999 byte of data
Ping-statistic:
Parcel: Sent: = 10, Received = 10, Lost = 0 (0 %),
Average transmitting time in milliseconds:
Lowest = 288 ms, Highest = 290 ms, Average = 289 ms
Is that good or bad?:icon_neutral:
I have sent Ping to two more and I se our server is the slowest of them all:
Sending signals to www.d20l.com with 9999 byte of data
Ping-statistic:
Parcels: Sent: = 10, Received = 10, Lost = 0 (0 %),
About transmitting time in milliseconds:
Lowest = 212 ms, Highest = 214 ms, Average = 212 ms:
__________________________________________________ ______________
Sending signals to a1718.x.akamai.net (NASA’s homepage) with 9999 byte data:
Ping-statistic:
Parcels: Sent: = 10, Received = 10, Lost = 0 (0 %),
About transmitting time in milliseconds:
Lowest = 120 ms, Highest = 120 ms, Average = 120 ms
Spjeff69 what is your option? I can´t see another cause our server is slow.:icon_rolleyes:
.2 to .3 seconds to communicate with a device is rather slow.
I believe it is the sigs that are slowing down the page loadings over here for us. If the Pi Segment ones are stored in Asia then it's a large cause right there, because of the Taiwan earthquake. (Your sig takes a bit to load Lagu)
But I've been examining Free-DC's stats tables alot lately and their stats pages aren't fast to load either, even being just tables with letters and numbers they take anything from 15 seconds to over a minute to load. So probably Free-DC's stats sigs might also take a bit to load as well.
So... my guess is that (besides the Taiwan earthquake thing) every stats site is getting hammered with more and more people and requests per second everyday, and that is taking its toll on the forums and websites that have stats based sigs (not just ours)
But then... escalating demand of an online service usually leads to one of three things. 1) It starts being a paid service. 2) It closes. 3) The hardware and bandwidth are upgraded.
p.s. - Jeff, please don't take away our pretty sigs. I'm sure things will work themselves out someway. :)
I will call our host tomorrow
