You'll be greatly missed. :-(
Will you still be lurking in the background?
Will you be defending your World rank postion is PSP?
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
I take it that you're staying online with AMDusers even though your farm goes offline?
Sorry to hear that. I hope you stick around.
Dammit that sucks :(
Look, i crunch with only 2 machines here at home and every little bit counts. Even if i can't have a farm here at home, i'm happy enough with just my 2 pcs.
Man that sucks! You will be sadly missed...
No need to leave AMD users I hope. I always look forward to your posts, =D< Dave
Dammmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnn...hope you can come back soon !!!
We'll miss you....
Oh poop.
Ah well. Can't argue with the dollar.
Hope will see you again.
I've still got an amd-64 X2 running a couple of instances and a linux box so there will still be some input to the race. :)
Just got home and read your post. Hope you stick around even if you aren't pharming any more. Good wishes.
Wife and I chatted a bit last night, and evidently things aren't quite as grim as she lead me to believe the other night, for the time being anyway. So just playing things by ear (I guess that's normal for husbands anyway). Meanwhile have turned back on eighteen systems, most running FAH, but a couple of them just don't like FAH so they are doing dnet. Looking down the road, starting the 2nd weekend in August, things will slow way down as I'll be out of town a week and I have no one to watch the computers. Should pick back up the week after that .
eighteen systems....... ....My mouth is watering...
Holy crap.... No wonder your electric bill is so high.
actually running 21 systems total, had 18 of them shut down. I wish it was 21 X2 systems, then temps would be a lot lower and the overall electricity used by the A/C and the crunchers would be noticably lower. But I don't have the bucks to buy a bunch of those. :( So I keep running my collection of older systems, and dodging the wife when she gets on those cost-saving rants....
And the weather guessers say that the hot weather is coming back again, so I'll probably have to knock it down to 13 systems if it does so the a/c gets a bit of a reprieve. meanwhile, just making hay while I can. :)
I run 2 dual core systems and a laptop... Our electric bill is almost $300 USD a month.... I have both desktops on a KVM switch so that helps. One less screen to consume electricity. I would like to have 2 more X2's.... The 2 empty slots in the KVM switch are really lonely.

Of that number though, 2 are xp1800, 2 are XP2000, and 4 are xp2100's. Of course they still turn out a decent number work units, and do good running OGR but the worst part I think is the heat they generate. 2 or 3 X2's would be a lot cooler. But everyone runs what they have on hand. And it's all for fun anyway isn't it :?:Quote:

As some games and applications reserve and maintain resources, even when they aren't active, he has to shut them down when he's not using them (mainly games).
BTW, the Thermaltake water pump we bought for overclocking died after about 3-4 weeks and he's back with the origonal air cooled system and the 4800+ is back to the factory processor speed. But he's still getting about 800 credits per day from Predictor@home.
I guess my thought is that if you had family or someone local you could trust to borrow some of your systems and let them crunch for you, that could be a viable option. Especially with the older and higher heat producing systems.
