I got 3 sys from the wife. She found an old wish list I had stored on Newegg and ordered them earlier this month. 3 new 4800+ bui, I'm to chicken to stack them like a tree.
Hey! No guts no glory! :)
but that was sure kind of her!!!
I got an intel core 2 duo laptop. I know it's not a turion x2, but i didn't want to go through that huge bestbuy crowd to return it and a core 2 duo is allegedly faster than a turion, so i'll try it. I also heard at the F@H forums that they are going to release the PS3 client on this Monday, Tuesday or Friday. I should be doing some heavy crunching pretty soon. :)
I got a Playstation 3 !!!!!!!
I got a foot spa?!?!? :icon_rolleyes::icon_lol:
Keep us up to date on how that puppy works! :)
Well so far it's gone like...
Read instructions! Check!
Added hot water! Check!
Placed feet into device Check!
*&$!*&""ell take feet immediately out of water due to still at boiling point!
Re-read instructions properly this time!
Poured a litre of cold water also into the thing!
Put my Wife's feet into device to check on temp! Check
Kicked her off it before plugging it in!
Put my feet into it and then powered it up to full!
The mad thing started to vibrate and blow bubbles like a baby on a washing machine!!!
15mins later I was fast asleep with pink feet! Jobs a goodun!
...I'm still not sure how that prezzie request translated in her head from me saying I wanted a QuadCore though!
lol Andy the wife got one of those from her mother, she loves it and the noise is driving me nuts. It's great without the bubbles.
I am impressed with the hardware that has been graciously awarded to my Team Mates. I alas, have not had any hardware deliveries. I have though been granted new delightful news with my Business Project and that is great news, I am going to get paid finally. Next year which is only 7 days away I will award myself with a few servers of joy. Cheers everyone! :icon_santa:
I bought myself a VisionTek X1950Pro XGE video card, which I am crunching F@H with...I do have a BFG GeForce 6800 OC which I would like to sell...anyone want it???I paid like 105 on ebay for it, and I'll sell it for that. :)
I got the best Christmas present of all. I got my eldest son (Steve Lux Jr.) back after spending about 3 hours in the Emergency room early this afternoon.
Long story short: His car hydroplaned off of the road, hit a tree and flipped end-over-end, hit a 6' concrete culvert and fell upside-down in a creek where it sank mostly under the water (with just the wheels and the bottom of the car above the surface). The roof was crushed in on the passenger side, the driver's side was blocked by an underwater tree, but the hatchback window was broken out by the subwoofer box he had in the back and he eventually swam out that window.
Fortunately my youngest son was following in his car and saw the accident. David jumped into the creek and being the kind of guys we are (too much TV?) he tried to rurn the car back over, but couldn't. So, he tore the outside sheet metal of the passenger door off (Both of my boys competed for many years in wrestling and in South Carolina state strength competitions when in High School - both are really tough) and he was starting to bend out the inner sheet metal when he saw his brother trying to get out the back of the car and went back there and pulled him out.
Aside from a few small cuts from the glass a few bruises and a dent in the noggin my eldest is fine. He was wearing his seat belt and the air bags deployed as they were designed to. It's been a scary Christmas, but the gifts this year beat anything I can ever conceive of. Nothing made in China can top this.
It just don't get better or worse than that. Nothing better than a fresh outlook something like that gives all involved. Puts wrapping paper and "things" in their place!
WOW..thank God your son is OK Steve, mine rolled his Hundai 5 years ago and walked away from it too. He wrestled in High School also...it makes you tough.Yes that was a wonderful present :)
Sorry to hear about your son... That really sucks. I'm glad that he is ok.
I didn't get any cool hardware stuff but my wife got me some cool AMD decoration stuff for the office..
This banner is HUGE!!!

Wow Steve what a Christmas gift you weren't expecting. Yes I wrestled too in high school, I guess that hardening really does make an impression after all. I am glad everything worked out after that frightful experience, somebody must have been watching over your sons that day!
A got a new graphics card. I have an XP3000 32-bit setup with no PCI express slots so I had an AGP Leadtek 7600 GT card bought for me, which was a nice surprise. Runs FEAR really well.
Hey Steve. Sorry to hear about the accident but I'm glad that your son is OK. Must be good to know that they're capable of getting themselves out of challenging situations in one piece!
Hope you all enjoy the new year celebrations.
Blime Steve! Glad he's OK.
Only PC harware I got was a Logitech V150 Laser Notebook mouse which is better than the touchpad I've been using and a nice little mouse.
Also got 2 black and 2x Colour printer carteridges, which at the prices today was most welcome!
Holy Crap Steve,
That's a hell of a situation. It a great thing that things turned out as good as they did. Most of those type of accidents dont ever turn out so well.
You should have one big family celebration for you new years party and toast to the new year!!
Glad your son's OK Steve. That was a close call hey?
Quick thinking on the part of your other son to get him out thru the rear hatch :icon_wink:
What sort of car was it?
I got an iou for a new a/c for the computer room. The catch is I have to tidy up the mess so we can get the old system removed and a tradesman to install a new uber powerful unit in its place.
Damn-it Man & Thank GOD on that one !!!
Thank goodness, it was not his time.
I guess his next car will be an Abram's?
I was lucky enough to get a 6 port UPS from my folks.
6 ports protected and 3 of those on the battery.
It is already smoothing things out.
He was driving a 98 Mistsubishi. I am uncertain of the exact model because I'm no car enthusiast, but it was similar to my other son's Eagle Talon.
It's irritating how two young brothers can fuss and fight and be so competitive, but refreshing to know that when the chips are down they are there for each other.
Sounds like you have two fine young sons to be rightly proud of Steve. Glad all turned out so well. A safe New Year to you all. dAVE.
