Weren't we supposed to organise a WCG challenge in the rememberance of Ramjet around this time?
I was thinking i'm running late on all that. What about something like the 12th to the 20th? Is that getting to close to the busy holiday? Is it still cool enough for our southern hemisphere members? It would be nice to make the race at wcg and boincstats if possible. If just one I think boincstats would be better for the stats.
"From December 18th 16:28:00 UTC until December 21st 16:28:00 UTC we (Primegrid) will be having a 3 day challenge running the Proth Prime Search (Sieve) application."
This is OK as WCG doesn't have a GPU project so it won't interfere.
ps. It is currently reasonably cool in my town (mid 20's C), let's hope it stays that way for this challenge.
This sounds good to me. Any other suggestions?
I have created the Ramjet memorial WCG challenge on Boincstats, runs over 7 days commencing Dec 12th.
Thank you vaughan. I may buffer a few work units ahead as I could use some heat.
No problem Jason. I have put some machines on no new work for Primegrid so as to be ready for the Ramjet Memorial Challenge. I figured by the get go I should have 24 cores ready to crunch WCG.
I will see if I can find some more by the start time.
Come on team, please join in and have some fun.
That sounds good and hope you can keep up :P I'm gonna have more then the last wcg race :P
We are still 2 days out from the start of the Ramjet memorial challenge and we have 11 teams signed up. That's pretty good I think.
As Founder I have the opportunity to send an email to all AMD Users team members on World Community Grid. Do you think I should use this to publicize the challenge? Jason would you like to write something suitable I can use in a team-wide email. Remember that many people who are signed up for AMD Users in WCG never visit this team site or our Facebook page.
Join us in a memorial race to honor our fallen cruncher Ramjet. It was a year ago when the micro managing of his crunching pharm was cut short. He continued as much as he could through his short battle with cancer and strokes. His crunching pharm continues to run in his memory and will be working hard during this race under jason1478963 as always. His wife, sons, family and friends continue to support this great cause. Please join us in our memorial race to honor him and others that have also fallen. Stop by at https://boincstats.com/en/stats/challenge/team/chat/971 or http://www.amdusers.com/forum/showth...2055#post82055 to tell us who your crunching to honor.
OK the email has been sent to all 98 team members enrolled at WCG.
Thanks again. We sure appreciate the efforts of everybody to make this possible :) I believe I am cold enough here I could turn on a few more and put off turning the heat on a bit longer.
Thanks Vaughan for the email. I saw this was coming up, and had forgotten to get things lined up ready to go for the memorial challenge! While I never knew RamJet i am happy to crunch in his honor as well as the numerous people I know that are currently fighting or have sadly lost their battle with the horrible beast that is cancer.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable and productive competition.
I do believe we have started our week long challenge in honor of Ramjet :)
Looks like we are running 8th out of 12 after 1 hour 20 minutes.
turning a few on :P
Nice boost, we are #1 now.
Go AMD Users.
We need more boost: TSBT has passed us..

But we have a nice number of AMD Users active: 38 at the moment!
I'm giving her all she's got captain!
My battlefleet is building, I hope to add another 5 computers today (but they are not modern CPUs).
I hope your mains can hold it. I'm not sure I can fire up the dual cores here
It looks like everyone on the team is hitting this one pretty hard. Nice work everybody. I couldn't ask for a better tribute for our fallen Members, family and friends :)
Not hard enough:

Its a very competitive project and as far back as I can remember we haven't been able to get to 3rd position in a race at WCG.
I have a few more going but sure could use about 10 ryzens
Sorry I'm late.
better late then missing the whole thing :P
Running 222 cores now.
I'm around 360 cores :)
Very impressive work. 222 cores is for sure throwing some heat and spinning that meter. This is an impressive effort that would make them proud and a serious dent in some research toward finding treatments and cures :) I know Dad would be very proud of this team helping out this much at WCG :)
You all impress me with the huge outputs that keep us high in the points values. Keep this up for another day and we will have made an impression to beat next year.
Yay we regained 4th place.
You just earned a Gold badge for the contribution you've made to Beta Testing.
You just earned a Diamond 5 Year badge for the contribution you've made to Microbiome Immunity Project.
2 badges today. This is fun.
Congrats on the badges. The Beta Testing is a hard one to get. You could build a nice collection at the rate your going :)
We are down to the final hours of the race and have a tight race to keep our 4th position.
4th place is a very nice tribute to Ramjet and others I think. I appreciate all the efforts on this race by our team and others as I know crunching can be very costly. I don't think we would have maintained 4th place if it wasn't for everybody that helped in this race. One machine less and we could have been in 5th place :P
Congrats on the badges Dirk, it is always nice to get some upgrades during a race. I am still short 16.5 years on my next badge upgrade. This should be achieved by the end of the heating season with Ramjets Pharm, my brothers and my more efficient machines.
Well Done Everybody
I also gained a ruby badge - well done Team.
Great job everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed this race. Now on the next over at Primegrid.
Better ask why over at Primegrid forum.
