I've just downloaded 2.2, which seems to work on all processors [im using an athlon xp], and as the site says it seems to be roughy 100% faster :D

Indeed the project site has updated the client:

downloading now for a look see
welcome to the green room BTW
Installs smoothly over v 2.0 and picks up the current WU from the save point with no problems.
It certainly toggles up to speed better than 2.0
They seem to have eliminated the stupid toggle downwards if you open the config interface and close it again.
Running ok on K7-7
(perhaps this is the new toy that havayoth has found - hello havayoth - if you log in)
mine is definatley much better, i am hitting 800000 easily at low priority. i am running DHEP at the same time and with 17 on normal priority according to config and below normal in task manager. java at normal in taskmanager they are taking 45 each. the other 10 going to explorer, windows media player etc.
beerknurd you should try this and see if you experience an increase as great, mine is definatley 100% / 125% faster.
944k now on a barton 2500 opposed to approx 600k before, but still not enough to oppose the P4. :(
holds them off for a bit longer though eh ?
I'll download at work tomorrow and try it out.
Thanks Andrew
Are you suppost to download over the SSE2 version????
Cause on the Gateway, I was gettting about .2M, and now after the install i'm getting .26M. Not much diffrence...
So do we replace SSE2 with 2.2???
i left sse2 on and installed new one, got a massive increase. now i have deleted the original SOB executable file so i dont ever install the slower client again.
Well I installed 2.2 over SSE2 and have not seen any diffrence... It might actually be a little bit slower. I'll let it run for a few days and see if there is any change.
A bit slower eh ? Excellent Beerknurd.
well for all XP processors the increase is amazing just as sse2 was for P4's.
I put SSE2 back on. Plus I'm running all 3 instances (2 onthe Dell, and 1 on the Gateway) offline to try to maximize performance. So if it looks like I went offline in SOB I didn't. Just wait for the dump.
I gave it a shot on my A64 and it was getting 1.35 million cEM/sec
Keith
wow... thats fast, im getting 930,000 cEMs/sec... which isnt too bad for a 2700+ XP, and considerin it was only 500,000 before... a big improvement...
It has improved the Athlon XP's output but nowhere near as dramatic as the boost the SSE2 version gave the Intel P4s. For example, my P4 2.66 is doing 1.5 million cEMs/sec
The SSE2 version changed mine from 1.5M to 2.6M. Now that's what I call a boost. The 2.2 version changed my Gateway from 200,000 to 290,000. Not too bad... I guess anything helps.
2 installs running fine so far.
1 set to run without intermediate posts to see how it goes.
V small improvement on the Cele over the SSE2 version.
passed 500 posts. YAY.
vaughan,
how long d'you think until chaz notices?
You know DMMc is going head-to-head with him in a couple of projects at once. And soon it will be on in SoB as well.
How long do you think you can keep 2nd place ?
A few days at most.
well you have 2nd now vaughan in SOB
Ahem.......
Is everybody out to kick my butt or what?? :-(
I'm out of town atm, so nothing I can do. SOB is kid of a disappointment since the P4's got such a boost.
Ahem...
Ahem...
weeeeeell.
as you mention it....
vaughan just how many P4's did it take you to stomp chaz in SoB ?????
(I just know he's going to get me back for that :!: )
[EDIT] after the 2.2 upgrade test of course :P [END EDIT]
chaz there is a boost out there for other processors now aswell, its not as good as the SSE2 upgrade was for P4 but it gave my XP a 100% increase so they should help you a lot if you were gonna take 2nd place back.
I'm trying to find a fine balance to hold of DMMC in multiple projects, as it appears we are pretty close powerwise, BUT NOW THIS?????
Hehe i dont think I can oppose Vaughan without losing position elsewhere.
Yes I have tried it, but it still takes 2 2500's to equal my 1 P4 3.0. but it is better than the 3 it used to take.SOB doesnt take too well to OC'ing either. Don't worry I'll be watching and planning, muhahahaa.Quote:

it might be worth taking the risk of losing a position to gain elsewhere. ???
or in chaz's case - defending 1st.
:notworthy:
ah,
i didnt realise he was 1st in 4 projects. thats pretty good - i can see why u want to keep all of those.
I'm going for 1st in Grub...... I should have it by the end of the month. Once I get 1st, Stu is gonna have to put that on the stats page. Cause I want my name in yellow.
haha
I just thought that if we included the post stats, you'd already be there !!!!!
(not going to happen. Not a DC project you know.)
maybe it could replace marmot if we continue to just lose positions in this cause no-one is running it.
our post stats are out because there's loads of people from other teams that have posted on our site.
it wouldn't make sense.
But Marmot.
The demented Turtle.
Yes.
She needs to be uncerimoniously extradited from the realms of AMD Users stats.
The stability is non-existant and all of us who have tried have found it to suck resources and crash machines.
"Marmot...you have been voted out of the tribe ! Please leave immediately !'"
But I still want Grub added......
Did you know we have a forum for Grub ?
There's only one post there.

Can you post a link to the project home page and the stats ?

wow. you are the web dweller.
I suggest making a new thread post in the Grub forum.
