x700 pro is pretty good, but there are also other alternatives to that.

this has a bunch of 6600 gts and an x700 pro pitted against each other.

Lol, ok, It happened to me right after I switched to 4.45, so I guess I made conclusions that it was the client. Oh well, I'll guess I'll be crunching blindly for a while!
I recently upgraded my 4.19 client, that ran remarkably well, to 4.45, which seemed pretty stable and rock solid. Now as a week has passed, I go to check my credit for Einstein and I have 11 WUs...
good god, he's running a a warehouse full it sounds. if only we all had computers that were 1.2 THz. lol
happy birthday jeff. :)
i liked chewbroccoli most. lol
$599, well at least they'll drive the other card prices down and make them affordable. lol
oooo oooo, nice setup! :D that should be perfect for gaming and running dc projects also. with that water cooling kit you should be able to oc without a hitch. :P
id really like to see pics of...
if you are a mega serious gamer then sli is for your, but for more conventional use just go with one card. even in some benchmarks ive seen on nvidia cards, sli provides barely any performance gain....
go with the sandiego, if you have good memory you could just simply oc it up to the 3800. san diego's are better overclockers too.
redneck
lower the better.
i forgot i had sisoft sandra 2004, my total fsb is 2x1000(2000mhz datarate). i totally forgot about sisoft.
yea ocz is good memory, the reason i say this is because the only way to oc any of the amd 64 chips is is to change the fsb. all the chips are multiplyer locked (except for the fx cpu's), you have to...
didnt know there was one for 939, every time i googled it was always 754. oh well. doh
every review ive read people are oc'ing these things 200-400 mhz stable on air. of course though they...
i really dont think a 3700+ venice exists, 3700+ only exist in the 754 socket range and its a san diego or clawhammer core.
check to see if your chip supports sse3, most of the winchesters do not....
better yet, i found a table and you can see the lowered vcore and the cores themselves.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/images/cpu/athlon64-venice/models.gif
venice core was made after the initial "clawhammer" core for reduced power, and it also introduced the sse3 technology into the amd 64 lineup.
the san diego core is an improved version of the...
sli is 2 video cards to share the load of just one, its suppose to give you better performance in sli supported games (doom 3, far cry, riddick) but in some of the benchmarks ive seen, 1 card can do...

those are the only other 2 i know of, but you can never go wrong with newegg. :)
nice midrange system, but it would be a lot better to go with a socket 939. amd suggests they will be supported much long than 754, and if later you decide to upgrade, you could get a dual core...
specs are always good, that way you can get opinions and suggestions about the new system. :) :D
ouch
