The reason the app_config works so good for Nflight might be because use is made from 256-bit AVX instructions.
This is done on a Bulldozer-based AMD CPU -or derived APU- by using two FP units.
Due to the shared FP unit in each module this means that four AMD 'cores' (or two modules) can do the same AVX work as one Intel core....
Am I right in thinking Nflight has set the 'N' in the app_config.xml to 4 -or even 2?

Actually Dirk your not even close; The 'N' is set to 7. Once the system allows the GPU to operate then the separate App.config for the GPU kicks in and I run 2 cores alone for the GPU then 6 cores run the CPU processing and allow me one for computing while I am working on my system. And working has become long and arduous but I love it all the same!Originally Posted by Dirk Broer

I've been away since yesterday, it appears I missed a lot over here. So is the race over and Daniel won? or is the race now on to catch Daniel? Or are you guys still after me?
I don't think I can catch up to Daniel, he's got a whole lot of crunchers there.
