You're probably meaning the same as the old HD7850, a Pitcairn Pro GPU equipped card from the "Southern Islands" series.

The Pitcairn Pro's core ran at 800 MHz, the 256-bit RAM at 1200 MHz and did 153.6 GB/s,
    it had 1024 shaders, 64 TMUs and 32 ROPs, doing 27.52 GigaPixels/s and 55.04 GigaTextures/s,
It had a Single Precision power of 1761.28 GFLOPS and a Double Precision power of 110.08 GFLOPS (meaning only 1/16th)
Running BOINC 24/7 would have needed a constant 130 Watt.

It lived on in the Radeon R7 265, Radeon R7 370 and Radeon R9 370 (an OEM card).

But I would try a Radeon R7 260X if I were you, more recent architecture (GCN 1.1), less TDP (115 Watt), 1971.2 GFLOPS SP and 123.2 GFLOPS DP,
or even a GCN 1.2 card like the Radeon R9 380: 3476.5 GFLOPS SP and 217.3 GFLOPS DP.

I'm on schedule to catch up with you in MilkyWay in 13.24 days. It's quite likely that may never happen, but this tortoise is going to keep on keepin on! :P

Well there Dave, :-) I would imagine that you will manage to do it in 13.24 days! I am back at work on rc5-72 again. My 4850's ran into some issues on MW. Then the world came to an end on collatz when slicker revamped his apps very recently. So I just decided to go back to the old standby. :-) I hope all is going well with you!!

HD 4850, great card. Found one in a dumpster -heck, it had a Cooler Master Centurion casing, Cooler Master 500W PSU, an ASUS mobo, DVD writer, 4Gb of Corsair DDR2 RAM and a C2Q6600 with it too.
Card went to my son -he's crunching BOINC with it-, mobo+RAM+CPU to the son of a colleague and I am using the casing with DVD writer and PSU myself.

Yup, I bought 3 of them waaaaay back for crunching rc5. I've put a ton of work units through them. one finally gave up the ghost. The other two are still going strong. One is still crunching rc5 on an old MB. The other was pulled out and sits on a shelf now after I stopped crunching collatz. Still a good double precision card. Of course they suck juice and put out some heat, but I've sure gotten my monies worth out of them. :-)
