I am looking to build another BOINC rig, and was actually looking into dual socket boards, though I only planned on having 24 physical cores.

AMD-wise you're left with dual Socket G34 mobo's with the same 12-core CPU's I mentioned a few messages ago in this same thread (though you could choose for a quad socket mobo and use four 6-core CPU's), Intel-wise you need a Socket 2011-3 mobo with Intel C612 chipset, like the Asus Z10PE-D16 WS. I can't imagine this mobo failing the I/O needs of CEP2. I would love to see a likewise equipped AMD Zen-Board....
