    7. BOINC Pentathlon 2016

The seventh BOINC Pentathlon is around the corner. As usual, SETI.Germany invites all BOINC teams to find out which team copes best with the challenges of five disciplines at five projects between May 5 and May 19.

While there are no major rule changes this year, it is ensured that there will be only one winner after the shared gold medal last year. Furthermore, the Pentathlon pages https://www.seti-germany.de/boinc_pentathlon/ have undergone an optical refresh, all the rules and later on the stats are there, as well. Many questions are answered in the FAQ: https://www.seti-germany.de/boinc_pe...27_en_FAQ.html

Each team that wants to participate can sign up and enter four project suggestions using this registration: https://www.seti-germany.de/boinc_pe.../anmeldung.php form until April 27. Later registration is possible until May 2, but without the possibility of suggesting projects.

Therefore, explore the interest within your team and sign up. We're looking forward to your participation in the BOINC Pentathlon!

    Many Greetings: Terminator

    I'm happy with that selection.
Any other contributions before I sign our team up?

    Dear fellow crunchers,

after a hacker had caused havoc on the server and the Pentathlon pages had been offline for one week, the BOINC Pentathlon 2016 has now been rescheduled to start one month later, i.e. on 05 June 2016,see also https://www.seti-germany.de/forum/co...16-rescheduled. Registration https://www.seti-germany.de/boinc_pe...g.php?&lang=de for teams that wanted to participate but could not sign up in time is open again until 28 May.

    Many Greetings: Terminator

Citizen Science Grid (Formerly known as three separate projects: SubsetSum@Home, DNA@Home and Wildlife@Home and still having these as sub-projects) is to be the first event!
    Start: 2016-06-05 00:00:00 UTC
    End: 2016-06-19 00:00:00 UTC

At start there was no work, but as soon as Travis got on the job we're flooded with it.
AMDave and Dirk are our most able marathon runners, Dirk having ran eight real 42k marathons in his active sports period (best result 3h:45m).

2nd event in the BOINC Pentathlon (the 'City Run' aka 'Stadtlauf') is to be The SkyNetPOGS
    Start: 2016-06-06 00:00:00 UTC
    End: 2016-06-11 00:00:00 UTC

Due to the availability of CSG WUs you can go full-out on POGS for the moment. Paul AMD leads us here, followed by Dirk, Allen and Chris.
