There's a new dev version of boinc, 4.41 this time. Doesn't say anything new since the last one, so I don't know what did they do in it, but I've installed it and it's been running ok so far.
-
Just got it, so far so good. But when I double click the icon to get the window, the messages in the messages tab disappers. I have to move to another tab and back for it to work. Also happens with the Work tab.
EDIT: Looks like I'm getting those freezes when I double lick again. This time seems more often. :?

Fresh new dev version 4.42 is out.
gamer007, I get occasional slowdowns and stuff like that due to lack of memory. My boinc is set to suspend projects but keep them in memory, so when it juggles with several at the same time and keeps them all in memory the task manager shows that my allocated memory goes way beyond my physical memory, so it's using the slower virtual memory. Could you be having the same problem?
-
Whoa, whats with all the updates?
Anyway, I turned off the option just now. Will try out the new version.
EDIT: So far so good.
-
Remember that some projects (the ones without checkpointing ability) will suspend to memory even tough you turn off the option.

New recomended (not dev this time) Boinc version 4.43 for windows is out.

New dev version 4.44 out a few days ago.
File (click to download) boinc_4.44_windows_intelx86.exe (6.35 MB)
Version number 4.44
Release date 26 May 2005
Installer type Windows installer
New features
* We are now including a tool with command line interface to control boinc within the default distribution
Known problems
* Applications that were built before October 2004 do not display screensaver graphics with the Service or Shared install type, or the Single-user install type with the password protect screensaver option on NT based machines.
* If BOINC runs at the same time as Windows XP 3-D screensavers, the system becomes sluggish and unresponsive.
* Dial-up users should choose the single-user installation.
* Graphics sometimes do not work with ATI Graphics card. This bug has been fixed, but it requires new applications to be built. Please check with the various projects to find out when they'll release a new applicaton with the fix.

I'm assuming BOINC will chose the WU to crunch with the earliest deadline.
-
Yes, I've been noticing that on my Boinc here.
At least for projects with the same priority value, boinc chooses to crunch first the workunits closer to the deadline.
