    AMD released an EPYC processor!

AMD announced today the EPYC line of processors for the server market, based on the Zen architecture.

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/11551/...-epyc-analysis

They are not cheap, small, or low powered.

But man are they cool and impressive!!
    -Up to 32 cores / 64 Threads
    -128 PCIe 3.0 lanes
-Up to 2Tb of maximum RAM per socket (4Tb per 2P system)

I want to start seeing some reviews on these beasts!

By the way... wasn't there a rumor last year about a server APU part that would be a 32-core coupled with so many graphics compute units? Unless there are more surprises coming later this year my guess is they probably didn't make it, the heat output would just be too much.

They need lots of RAM slots, as they need eight sticks at a time (being octo-channel RAM)
    Found the price for a 128GB DDR4 Stick (just one): 9,000 Euro's....
but that price will drop, take my words....
