And did I already told you that the R5 Raven Ridge does hyperthreading too?

If you look at the table below (or above, depending on your forum settings), it is clear that upgrading to Raven Ridge is the future for APU users.
This especially as both Windows and Linux are rapidly withdrawing support for the older APUs in their drivers, crunching-wise. AMD has stopped making their own Linux drivers, so no solution there.
CAL++ has gone for both Windows and Linux in the recent versions and OpenCL 1.1 has gone south too in the Windows drivers, making the HD 3000 and 4000 series worthless.
We haven't yet seen all of Raven Ridge, but the support for hyperthreading -perhaps not in all of them- and the L3 cache are a nice step forward.

i can't wait until there's HBM for system RAM (and VRAM) on the same chip ...if that's possible... would be fast as hell, i'd think
or at the very least a desktop APU with VRAM on-chip. we're SO CLOSE! (here's laptop benches: https://hothardware.com/reviews/ryze...mance-analysis )
edit: also, FYI Raven Ridge is supposedly GCN Gen 5
me, i'm dying to find some Vega-gen GPU info for cards cheaper than Vega 56/64
