some of the newer steppings of the xp 1800+ should overclock well enough to give an opteron a run for it's money atleast a 140 or 240... that is without taking sse2 into consideration.

don't matter, download de sse3dnow.zip from the becnhmakring website please, and run ss3dsoak.exe and tell me the settign used and we'll compare, oh and stock speed if possible ;)

the only reason I could see to compare the 2 cpus is to see if someone would be better off with 2 xp2400+'s over 1 opteron since the 2 xp's would cost about the same.
