    7nm Ryzen out TODAY!

7nm Desktop CPUs have arrived to the masses! And they are kicking the Blue team's butt!

EDIT: Oh, and did I forget the GPUs too?

Price cut the day before launch already. As consumers we're off to a great start already!

As soon as prices drop. The 16-core/32-thread Ryzen 9 3950X looks like a very economical 24/7 cruncher with a TDP of 105 Watt.
Threadripper-like performance on the AM4 platform.

i'm seriously considering selling and replacing my Threadripper 1950X with the 3900X... less heat creation during the summer, less power consumption likely... (and similar results in Blender, which i sometimes do via Sheep-It/BURP)

plus i already have multiple coolers more than capable of cooling a 3000 chip, unlike the $90 U12S on my 1950X...

Sometime in September, I will be purchasing new Ryzen equipment, hopefully, Epyc.

I managed to place an order for the last remaining 3900X from my supplier. They say the top CPUs are in limited supply (to keep the prices high I guess).
Also ordered an ASUS Crosshair VIII Formula and some Corsair DDR4 CMK32GX4M2B3200C16.

Hope to receive it all on Friday 12th.

Separately I ordered another 8 Odroid-N2 from Hardkernel as these little computers love running Universe and Yoyo.

I like that plan too, Q4 sounds like a good time.
I am finishing building up my little home server room, with a 42U rack, 24 outlet PDU, 240V dedicated circuit, dedicated room AC, and now a step down transformer for 120V devices is on the way. With all this I'll be ready to start expanding. No more random computer cases connected all over the house.

heh, i assume you'll run as many PSUs at 240 as you can (for efficiency)?
