Requesting 0 seconds of work message

I upgraded to v 4.45 BOINC Manager and I keep on seeing the message "Requesting 0 seconds of work." How do I force it to download some new work? I have it set to receive work for all the projects I'm enrolled in, except Pirates.

4.45 gave me a little trouble with things and I ended up "detaching" from all the projects then re-attaching to them and that fixed my problems.

couldn't tell ya.... Actually I could tell you the reason that it doesn't work. It's becasue it's Boinc. Nothing ever works. At least for me. I just hate coming home to find out that the project ran out of work.... That's really annoying. But anyways, that's just me.

I'll get off my soapbox now...

I tried detaching and then re-attaching all except CPDN as that is running.

    Didn't fix the problem.

I agree with Beerknurd - BOINC sux - I only wanted to get my Einstein rank <100th

LOL - probably because you already have a CPDN WU running and that's enough for it to handle for a good while.

Yeah didn't think of that. Only 573 hours to go.

Yea, the new boinc scheduler is like that. Won't get any more work if you have plenty already. And it also takes into calculations how much time boinc is working during a day, so if you just have it on once in a while, or a few hours per day he won't get you more work. It's a measure to prevent you from returning workunits beyond the deadline.

Try raising the priorities of the projects you want work to come, and suspend or stop incoming work from the ones you don't.

    Incorrect message within BOINC v4.45

I don't understand this bug - v 4.45 says my computer is on 19% of the time and BOINC for only x% blah blah. WRONG.

My computer is on 24/7 and has been for months. Why does BOINC get it SO wrong?

Have you got another client running in the background and did you start with a clean install or an 'upgrade" install of BOINC ?

Upgrade. I stopped eOn when it went off-line a few days ago and tried running BOINC exclusively on this comp but it keeps running out of work and idling. Needs lots of babysitting.
